One of the side effects of inhaling during a long session, they bring a blue tinge to my cock head. I am using an ultra strong British brand called Iso-Blue, so I suppose there is a clue in the title. My lips also sometimes take on a blue tinge. But it is temporary, and fades to normal after a short while. I thought you'd like to see the clinical evidence.

This is called cyanosis (cyan-osis - ie: blue-condition).

It's what happens when your bodily extremities are having a drop in oxygen from the blood supply that feeds them. People who get cold and experience hypothermia, or who have poor circulation on drafty days get the same thing for the same reason, but for different causes:

When you get hypothermia (you body's survival response to extreme cold), your arteries constrict. This is to slow blood flow to your extremities so that more blood is kept close to your internal organs to keep them warm longer. As a result of the decreased blood flow comes decreased oxygen, which turns the tissues from a rosy hue to blue. It's literally the blood under your skin having a lack of oxygen because it's flow has been slowed and the tissues have eaten up all the oxygen that your capillaries and red cell hemoglobin ought to be delivering more of.

When you do poppers, the nitrates RELAX your smooth muscles (anus and arteries, there's no difference). this causes a drop in blood pressure (like making a hose bigger - the water pressure will drop). Your heart races to compensate, which is where you get the rush and delirium from. It's this relaxing that mimics the effects of hypothermia, not because your arteries are tightening, but because the blood pressure to the extremities is lower (also why in some people poppers also cause a bit of impotence), and you then end up showing signs of cyanosis.

Not to be a killjoy like some people, but cyanosis is maybe a sign to moderate your use a bit more. Some people are also just more prone to it though because of their complexion.

Killjoy really lol...love how you left the the drop in glutathione and T Cell depletion too. Poppers are just no good for you full stop, people like Robert Gallo and the late Linda Laubenstein discovered that it was actually making gay men ( who are the main usersof poppers) aids and HIV symptoms worse because of the negative impact on the immune system. Infact at one point poppers was believed to be the cause of HIV. Gay men were advised to stop taking poppers, as well as stop going to gay saunas or as Americans call them bath houses as well as having sex for the time being by Linda but this didn't go down to well and accused Linda of pretty much being a homophobia or "stop them having a good time ", and god forbid you make that request. When in actual fact she was just wanting to save lives. Here in the UK we luckily had some of the poppers family banned in the UK because of such findings by the late Cass Mann.

That's really useful and interesting. Thanks. Poppers are not a regular part of my sex life but once in a while I use them to break the monotony of my jerk-off routine. I tend to binge, and then abstain for a while to let my body recover.

I was curious to see what kind of contributions you make to other threads, but I see you limit access to your profile, which is a shame because it would have been interesting.

Most people can't stomach my views or opinions so you would probably fall into that category im chill but some topics like chemsex, unsafe sex my views are strong on and people just tend to call me a self hating gay which always makes me laugh.

Because I was talking about cyanosis - studies around this have already been discussed here. I didn't see a need to include that because:

- It wasn't the topic of my post.
- It's redundant to keep repeating the same thing over and over when the point has already been made.

Infact at one point poppers was believed to be the cause of HIV.
A theory that was disproven. One could point to behavioural co-factors because of inhibition related to substance use (which also includes alcohol and just about any other substance people might find themselves using).

Poppers are just no good for you full stop,
True. However, preaching abstinence, using community moral pressure, stigma, and fear mongering tactics have been empirically proven to actually create more harm, while just propping up prohibition culture, which leads to unsafe supplies. It also discourages help-seeking or open discourse around risk. These things all just feed the problem.

Nobody would deny that it's bad for you. But a harm-reduction approach and open dialogues that don't stigmatize behaviours with a lot of good/bad right/wrong dichotomies (that just end up marginalizing people who use whatever, or decide to define for themselves how they want to fuck), are proven to be far more effective at reducing harmful outcomes.

As I said "at one point it was believed to be". I agree pressure doesn't always work but neither does the softly softly approach. When Linda Laubenstein sat down with gay men to suggest abstaining from sex until they could get a hold on the situation and she said it with love and compassion. "Many" gay men flat out refused to do so and engaged in sex that potentially kill them this is why it was primarilygay men dying of the condition likedto the lifestyle which like gay activistand personal hero Larry Kramer saw coming a mile off. So both approaches Don't always work it depends on the individual. But here in the UK many live by the code "sometimes you just need a kick up the butt" to get you to where you need to be.

I don't do poppers and honestly they gross me out. I associate them with extremely loose assholes and flaccid bottoms (which also turn me off). You do you, but they are absolutely not my scene.

And yet here you are on the poppers thread. I like em because they make cocksuckers go cock crazy when then do a hit . All good

I only do poppers if Im on prep , poppers makes me lose control and will do anything sexually Im sure.
Im more top but these just make me the opposite and want someone to unload inside me , wanna feel that warm cum hitting inside and feel dominated and degraded. so Im very careful and plan ahead using the stuff.

I used poppers with a fuckbud I had many years ago. Was so hot huffing with him while I topped him. Rarely used them alone to jerk off, but in recent years, they wreck havoc on my hardon and after the first hit, it doesn't do much for me. Rush was my favorite brand. If I don't use them, I find my cum shots and orgasms are much more intense. If I bottom, I will use them cause it makes it easier for me to take a cock. If I'm a top, I can't use them cause I won't stay hard.

I saw this thread by coincidence, if you're implying that I searched for this thread. Maybe i don't like them because I don't let guys call me a "cocksucker."

I never called you a cocksucker . Just saying that it makes them go crazy . Don't take it all personal

When I was in my 20's and early 30's, I'd get buzzed on pot or alcohol and jerk off with poppers. Man those orgasms were so fucking intense back then. My cock and balls came on fire and I would have whole body orgasms. Lately (in my late 40's) it's become iffy - it does wreak havoc on my erection if I'm not in the right "mindset" when I hit the poppers. But if I am horny enough, it still brings me over the moon and I cum ropes and ropes all over myself and my cum muscles are actually sore afterwards. But dam what a good sore feeling it is.
