Agree! My favorite was the 64. Had a 64 convertible back in the day and junked it. Worst mistake I ever made! Who knew?

Well folks , I have pretty much decided on what's next . It's out of these two final contenders to satisfy my " late/end of life " crisis . 5-6OO HP 351 Cleveland v8S , 6 piston brake calipers on the front , 4 piston rears , U.S. made Baer units , coil over suspension , and a custom airbag equipped interior . Don't give a shit what it costs , it's just a matter of which one . Do care what the " social nanny staters " think ? . Nah , couldn't give a flying fuck .

If I were to buy a 70's Aussie ford, it would be the Landau.

Yet, they are so difficult to come by now. Beautiful lines, looks of pure muscle. I remember them in dark metallic blue.

Yes , much like the big ford coupes , but more options , more comfort , and subtle design upgrades . They could go just as hard as their cousins , depending what you ordered . Christ we had some mad cars , until the " we know what's best for everyone " , " nanny staters " moved in . I cannot believe how effectively they have cut off our " national balls " . True , I am both a luddite and iconoclast , unrepentant on both counts . However , I digress , nice ride , the Landau , could easily live with that .

I have a few cousins who are into the ford scene. They have done up Customlines since they were late teenagers.

They used to drag them down at the Gold Coast, when it had a raceway ....Yet I did not like the 50's models all that much, more of a sixties and seventies.

Now they have Fords from the early 30's to the late 40's, even the old girls with the suicide doors.

The name Parker may ring a bell. One of my cus'es son played for the Broncos and Aus...

Yes , those Merc's are a fine looking ride . They sound as good as they look when you hit the throttle as well . Very nice indeed .
