My next pussy will be black... Correction: I want a little black kitten. I have an older fixed but very feral (all black) that I feed. I'm torn between a tuxedo and all black cat at some point...
Are you positive he’s not a bobcat? All black cats rock! I've had 2. Unfortunately, lost both to sudden kidney failure. I would love another, but the 2 cats I have are plenty handful now. And Bob would probably eat a new cat if I were to bring one in, haha. Hell he counts as 2 cats alone! (20 something lbs)
Are you positive he’s not a bobcat?
I actually wonder that sometimes. Or he's some weird hybrid.
Now the black freckles I get are due to something called lentigo (it's genetic apparently) but this mofo has 50% black whiskers and black HAIRS all over him. From what I understand it's pretty uuncommon for all orange cats to have black whiskers & hairs. At least that's what Google tells me. One source said could be chimera (so Bob ATE a litter mate in the womb?! Wouldn't surprise me frankly)
The vet doesn't know much, says the whiskers could be growing from a place there is a freckles? But shrugs his shoulders at the black hairs.
I dunno has anyone else here ever had an orange cat with black whiskers and hair?
one orange tabby. His mom, Possum (after the Phish song and because she was an unattractive kitten) was a tortie.
Angelo, her first born of her first litter, had random black hairs. And a couple dark whiskers.
he also was the living embodiment of just enough brain cells to survive. We do think he was brain damaged. Skinny Hippie was there at the birth, and Possum delivered and tried to run away. SH opened the sac and rubbed Angelo to life. But O2 deprivation had happened.
FWIW, we had a Nanday conure.
Their heads are black feathered.
Our boy had one feather follicle that alternated between white and red, almost centered in his forehead. Like a bindi.
Never a different feather. Never black. Diamond or ruby in the obsidian.
