Everyone has messy, crazy, delusional ass fans. While when it comes to conventionally good-looking guys, especially if they’re “masculine”, there will always be a subset in denial. And if he ever does officially “come out”/reveal himself to be in a same-sex commitment, there’s gonna be a lot of “support”. But there’s also gonna be a cute amount of Tweets like: “not Rob Stark/Ikaris”, “another Hollywood f@g”, “but he’s still into girls, right?” It all comes with the territory.

And now that he's promoting Eternals with Gemma Chan, everybody are "shipping them", ignoring that both are best friend, and both are in a relationship with a guy : unamused:

i find it strange that the media didn't make a huge deal out of richard flying brandon over to glasgow to attend his graduation ceremony sitting with his parents etc

Mainstream media and even gossip rags have been very careful when it comes to “outing” guys or suggesting non hetero relationships. In some ways that’s good. But considering how the media still highlights and hypes up non confirmed supposed hetero relationships and still likes to use girls kissing and faux lesbianism for sensation, it does come off hypocritical and gay panic-y.
