We’ve seen gay/queer presenting dudes have chemistry with their female counterparts. And Richard has had solid chemistry with his other female leads. So, let’s not try to make that a “gay” thing. If there’s a lack of chemistry it probably has more to do with direction and that Richard and Gemma have been besties for so long.

Thank you! I hate when people act like gay (or non-straight, at least) guys aren’t capable of playing straight roles. I’ve been a longtime Richard fan and I’ve seen him have romantic/sexual chemistry with many others, both male and female.

"too woke" "forced diversity" pls...i will never understand the problem that cishet white men have with diversity on screen, really makes you wonder if they don't leave their house basement and see that the real world it's not made of ppl like them, like what did they want?! a cast full of white strong men and a hot women almost naked for their own desires? ugh.

The key word is “forced”. People don’t want to feel like qualified actors/actresses are missing out on parts because of their skin color.

Just like I as an African American don’t want to be promoted simply because I’m black. I am not speaking for all people of color. These are just my feelings and thoughts.

It’s a complicated situation / topic and I do believe the nay sayers on marvel films are truly racist and vile people. But not all of them.

Kal Penn just publicly came out after being with his boyfriend for 11 years. So, for people assuming that just because Richard seems to be dating guys these last few years he’ll soon be unabashedly publicly “out”, I wouldn’t be sure about that. Some folks have commitments for quite a few years without confirming anything. But I guess everyone has their own dimensions, struggles, motivations and journeys.

I’d rather have a bit of “forced diversity” than to continue to have 95% of Hollywood blockbusters focused on white, gender “normal” normal people and focused on hetero dynamics. Also, most of the people claiming that it’s “forced” haven’t even seen the movie. They were simply ready to bitch about the cast not being almost entirely white and it having one little gay couple. The actual criticisms for the movie have nothing to do with “forced diversity”. But in general, Hollywood could use a lot more imagination than these super-hero/remake/blockbuster book adaption movies we’ve been getting for five years.
