Richard Madden (Robb Stark in GOT)

Whatever happened to the MCU sequel to the movie RM made, I’m quite sure they said they were committed to a sequel irregardless of how well the movie did. It did have the Oscar winning director at the helm and a woman, which I thought they were committed to doing. More women and directors of color for their films?
The Eternals. I really enjoyed it, but Marvel announced a few months back that they have no plans for a sequel at the moment.

I’m not issuing judgment, just what the critical reviews were. Poor audience reception is why we probably aren’t going to see a sequel (which is what the poster I was responding to had originally asked).
The problem is these days it’s so hard to get a feel for how many people genuinely disliked a movie and how many are just review bombers mad about some boogeyman of wokeness. Personally, I did find Eternals kind of unengaging, but I respect its ambition.

I think it had some really cool ideas in it, but the biggest problem to me is that they tried to cram way too many new characters in at once. Like Kumail's character nopes out for Act 3 and when he shows up at the end I had completely forgot he was in the movie because there were just so many people to keep track of.

IMO the biggest problem with Eternals was how fucking dark it was. I had to turn the brightness of my TV all the way up so I could see what was happening
It had Game of Thrones syndrome. The episode where the battle of Winterfell you had to turn the brightness all the way up just to see anything at all.
