Ryan Gosling

I only sporadically find him attractive (The Nice Guys Ryan could get it), but I've always thought he's an excellent actor going back to Murder by Numbers. His list of awards and accolades, including two Oscar nominations by the age of 37, would seem to indicate the latter isn't an unpopular opinion.

I would say he for sure deserved at least a nom for Lars and the real girl - if not the win itself. He portrayed such a serious topic in a very lovable way, very moving. But movie obviously didn't have any budget for campaign and he didn't have name recognition back in the day to carry it on his own.

Nevertheless, he got really close to a nomination. He was nominated for the Critics Choice, Golden Globe and SAG Awards. The film itself was nominate for Original Screenplay at the Oscars, so they saw it. I bet he was in 6th place.

He should have also been nominated for Blue Valentine.

Oh yeah I forgot about Blue Valentine too, it's not one of my faves so I keep forgetting about it. Overall he should've had 4 noms at least.

Both him and Jake Gyllenhall are snubbed at Oscars for whatever reason.

I finally made it to Barbie and it was perfect. RyGos was so great in the role and I honestly cannot think of a better Ken. I am a little miffed at how Margot has been overlooked with all the Oscar buzz…she literally was a Barbie; it was masterful. It’s also not lost on me that the whole theme of the movie is how women have to be all encompassing humans, while men can do one thing well and be lauded. What a world…okay back to ogling Ryan.
