Ryan Gosling

I finally made it to Barbie and it was perfect. RyGos was so great in the role and I honestly cannot think of a better Ken. I am a little miffed at how Margot has been overlooked with all the Oscar buzz…she literally was a Barbie; it was masterful. It’s also not lost on me that the whole theme of the movie is how women have to be all encompassing humans, while men can do one thing well and be lauded. What a world…okay back to ogling Ryan.
Just going to put this prediction from the summer right here. I mean the irony of it all.

Strangely enough I've never really cared for him up until Barbie...he looked so damn good in that movie that he looks sexy to me ...all the time
It will be interesting to see how this will play out. He has always talked about his mother and sister and the respect he has for women. The lack of nominations for Gerwig and Robbie are not going well, and if he gets up and gives a speech spending most of his time talking about them. It will be odd that Ken has to speak for Barbie (and the director). Watch the Academy try to get the women to come present. To the guy.

Robbie is the executive producer and star. As I wrote before, if this is his big Oskar moment, it will be ... interesting.

Robert Downey Jr.'s winning, so fortunately Ryan won't have to unfairly bear the burden of appeasing fanatics who are, for whatever reason, ignoring the fact that Margot Robbie and Greta Gerwig were still both nominated for Barbie.

Yeah he doesn't stand a chance of winning and RDJ fully deserves his Oscar. Ryan steals the show in Barbie which isn't that great a film when you compare it to some of the other releases this past year so I'm glad he's getting recognition. The nomination for America Ferrerra is bizarre and kind of highlights the fact Margot didn't get one.

If Barbie flopped, Ryan and America would not have gotten an Oscar nomination. It's weird how the Barbie actors so desperate for Oscar validation. It wasn't that good of a movie. They are lucky to break records thanks to marketing and hype.
I’d say based on its success many people would disagree with you. Personally I haven’t seen it and don’t plan on it, just not my type of thing, however numbers don’t lie.

He's not going to win because industry is supporting Nolan's Oppenhemier like there is no tomorrow.

From the first screenings in March last year he had buzz among critics who have seen movie.

The actors aren't desperate, just the fans. Don't lie on miss Margot. People complain about oscar snubs all the time. Now people are complaining about the complaining. And it was a good movie.

If Greta and Margot got nominated noone would even be talking about the Oscars, now it's trending everywhere, for pure buzz reasons for the ceremony they did the right thing.

This is such a tired recycled storyline though, every year there's a snub like that this that people lose it over.

To be honest, it's a corporate franchise movie about branded toys, im shocked its nominated for best picture, usually a film like this would only be nominated for best make up and best costuming.

I'm glad it did so well for everyone involved and invigorated a bunch of careers it's a good film but it's still a corporate film made to sell toys. Peak cinema it ain't.

It's because it is by far the best movie and I went into it quite cynical
It's not. Industry just decided it was his time because he lost Box Office battle.

Emily Blunt and RDJ getting nominations with RDJ even being clear frontrunner are jokes bigger than Ferrera getting in. They didn't do ANYTHING in that movie. Especially Blunt. Nolan can't write female character to save his life.

I do not agree with any of this, nor do critics and fans.
