I mean, Leo's had an exceptional career without them, and it's clear that Timothee has similar aspirations, so staying out of superhero films is a wise move, especially since they're falling out of favor. Also, who wants to be shackled to a 10-picture Marvel contract nowadays?
Though Timothee definitely auditioned for X-Men: Apocalypse's Cyclops! There used to be footage of his self tape on Vimeo, but last I checked it's been scrubbed from the internet.
