Ryan Lombard (ryanhdlombard)

I didn't take screenshots, sorry. Although, starting from earlier this year, I started to see more and more of his comments under (viral) lgbt focused posts. For ex: The Disneyland Pride night (or whatever it was called), he commented about "deranged and ill-minded people" for shoving it in children's faces. Then there was the Target merch thing, China closing a lgbt center, death penalty for gays, and today(?) World Bank suspending loans to Uganda over anti-lgbt law (life imprisonment).

His comments are typically : "W✊", "I stand with them", "Those people need help" etc., and more recently showing support to Uganda.

I unfollowed him this morning after seeing another appalling comment. I used to follow him of tiktok as I thought he was funny but now I'm just disgusted.

(english isn't my native language so my apologies if I made any mistake :emoji_pray:)

Damn, that's unfortunate

He's definitely my type, are you sure it was him being homophobic?
Yes. Unfortunately he is a republican and must have grew up in a republican household so him having such kind of opinions and ideas explains everything. It’s a shame. I really found him hot and his content funny as well, but character matters.

To be fair... I think that we are partly being gay has been used for political gain, marketing recently, and I actually don't like that. I also don't want drag queens to visit schools, prides having weirdos almost completely naked on streets, coming up with the 1000th gender, and so on... Recently I could not stand up 100% for the group I'm supposedly the part of because of these things.

But I do not believe in his radical approach either... People can't seem to find balance in things and I don't get it.

There are worse people doing worse things than drag queens reading to children but alright

I don't see a problem with Drag Queens reading innocent stories to kids as long as they don’t cross any lines.

Oh please. First of all, give me any politician or artist who got clout just for coming out. And I know you're gonna say Lil' Nas X and Sam Smith so let me clear those up right out the gate; LNX isn't famous for being gay, he's famous for being a massive troll who doesn't care about mass appeal, and Sam Smith is getting memed to hell and back on twitter every time they show up in another ridiculous outfit, but at the end of the day, they're famous for their outstanding vocals.

At the end of the day, coming out as an artist *can* boost your popularity, but that is only because, when you do it, you're putting yourself out there as a face and voice for our community, so naturally we'll support whoever does that because those people make us visible and heard.
So if you're gonna say you don't like it when artists bring up their queer sexual- and gender expression as part of their appeal, what you're really saying is that you are uncomfortable with queerness being seen and normalized.

Secondly, Drag is an art of performance. The kind of looks, outfits and acting talents that Drag Queens come up with is stunning and I say that as somebody who knows my local queens. People who are talented enough to legitimately do drag most definitely have the mental capacity to understand what is appropriate in schools, so I think worrying about that is a little overkill unless the school who hires these queens doesn't bother with checking who they hire. There are so many better things in schools to worry about!

Thirdly, pride is supposed to be a protest. A place where we all come together and celebrate each other's accomplishments while being out there and unapologetically queer in spite of everything.
Modern day pride is actively being hyper-sanitized for marketing purposes and so large corporations can earn their brownie points by donating to lgbtq+ organizations, which comes at the cost of excluding everyone who isn't marketable to wide audiences, which defeats the entire point.

Fourth...ly, this is just... empty and unsavory rhetoric. What's this even supposed to mean or imply? That people calling themselves weird genders somehow tears apart the fabrics of society? Okay, and what if?
If you struggle to identify with our community, I'd advise you to look inside yourself and also to try being friends with a wider variety of people, because you can really learn from them, more than you'd believe.
