Sammy was the best thing to come out of Holland House (that is the name, correct?). I enjoyed his scenes with Ty best, as I felt they had nice chemistry. Honestly most of the other guys didn’t do much for me. Not really my type. Once Sammy left, even Ty didn’t seem as appealing to me. I just lost interest.

Agree with many of you about the rest of the Holland guys. I always see them on with clinical acts they perform on each other with zero expression or enjoyment... yet they still get ranked near the top whenever you log in. So weird to me. I think it's just that they provide conversation to lonely guys. It's more about the virtual company than attraction because they all really are so average at best.

I'd imagine it would have to be hard to keep a show fresh after as many years as they've done it. Also they had an advantage when they were in the Tucson house in that there were tons of completely different areas to cam and have completely different show environments and experiences. The current spot is pretty much the same type show wherever they cam. That's okay if you cam maybe once or twice a week, but it gets stale as an every night thing.

I think what worked for them back in the day is everyone had some strength they brought to the table that was unique. For Sam, it was his personality and charisma that made him a natural for being the face of everything. When he left, they were able to add in a 5th guy, but no one really fits into Sammy's old role because it's not their skill-set. Johnny was probably the next best at it, but he's gone now too.

I do think you are pretty spot on about the conversation/interaction thing. It used to be commonplace in CB rooms that the interaction thing was a big part of the experience, but if you hop around in rooms these days, it's often a guy who just sits and does nothing until someone tips for something and then repeats the process. Most rooms are little different than watching a pre-recorded video.

It's also the difference in skills it takes to be good solo in a room vs. being good in a group show. Some people are equally good in both, but many aren't. In a group show, much of the interaction is going to between the guys in the show, but solo, it's just you and the viewers. It's in that intimate dynamic most that viewers form a relationship or friendship with a cammer. In Sam's case, he was really good at both, so when he went solo for a night, he built relationships with viewers and then those naturally carried over when there was a group show. It wasn't rare for him to carry a few thousand viewers for hours just him solo hanging out with the viewers in the room. He had a knack for that

I don't know JP's motivation as I only ever knew him in passing, but Sammy was running the studio and there is a niche/fetish market for older/younger content. You make videos to sell videos, so if there's something that will get sales and you are okay with performing in that area, you do it.

You basically have 4 types of content if you are in the industry. There's stuff that's a personal turn-on, stuff that doesn't turn you on but you are comfortable doing, stuff that turns you on watching but would never do yourself, and stuff that is neither a turn-on nor something you are comfortable with. If a scene is either of the first two types and would sell, you film it.

I do know in Sammy's case that over his years in the industry, he had numerous custom video requests he wasn't comfortable doing. In each case, he turned down the request regardless of what the monetary offer may have been. Physically being turned on in every scene he filmed was negotiable, comfort with an act in a scene wasn't.
