He sold it to MindGeek in 2015. My guess is that, after making millions, he just decided he'd retire and enjoy his life.
Plus it gets tiring have to shoot/edit scenes then watch your hard work end up on a torrent site before the day is through.
He most likely made a mint off of the sale as well. I'm just speculating, but it might have been a fortune. Sean Cody was arguably the best gay porn site ever. I still am awed by the quality of masculine, in shape handsome men he was able to recruit for his web site. Would be amazing if he came out of retirement and recruited those guys back on a new web site, maybe "sean cody, the next chapter" Seeing them all back in action would be amazing. Heartbreaking that so much of his work including the photo shoots and videos are gone for good other then the ones you can get from sites like this one.
That'll probably never happen lol The standards of what gay porn is are completely different. The look, the cinematography and the ability to recruit genuine nobodies were all pretty much killed by the Internet lol No one is going to risk the exposure or having to have sex with strangers (even if the guy is gay, not everyone is that open) when they can just open a mediocre OF page and get the money instead of having their personal info leaked like a lot of people were doing in the past (and are still doing now)
