It has a lot to do with America's culture of evangelicalism and shame. We have such a weird relationship with sex outside of heterosexual and missionary. He's probably been shamed so much that he's decided to vilify porn and homosexuality. Sad case.

I disagree with Freud a lot, but reaction-formation, where you hate a part of yourself so much that you present the extreme opposite (e.g. Homophobic men who later come out of the closet.) to deny the part of yourself you are not at peace with.

There are quite a few former porn stars, gay and straight, that go super religious. The idea of being "saved" is very intoxicating for those that regret their past and don't want to reconcile it in a more healthy way.

I'm a devout agnostic-atheist and the idea of finding my "purpose" through an old book written by humans and constructing my entire life and world view around that is terrifying. Religion is terrifying.

Absolutely and it's very complexed and nuanced. You have to look at America's culture with relation to sex, masculinity, religion, etc. I strongly think that Puritan foundation of America plays a huge role in that.

You never see ex-Belami models being homophobic or radical Christians after retirement because the attitude towards sex and homosexuality is often less toxic abroad.

Honestly, I've seen this attitude from quite some time. Random commenter calling porn performers in drama prostitutes while dedicating himself compiling personal information in a wiki and then "try to make all the information the first page on Google search for people to see so that these assholes won't be able to gain money other than doing their crappy Onlyfans video."

Yes, some of these performers are assholes or outright criminals, but stop thinking you're some kind of vigilante doing that because no, you're not. You're only enforcing general public to shame porn performers even more. You're part of the problem.
