Assuming someone is in the closet is not but if a person identifies as a straight male and you are saying that you know in fact that he is gay is. That's would mean people could say they know for a fact that any gay man is actually straight for a fact.

People are going to assume what they want. I'm assuming because he has a girlfriend. I think you can express thinking someone is gay in a supportive way. Most people assume he is gay and express it in a negative way.

Something about kpop irks me. These guys look like 50-year old bankers. Suits are about repression and hiding the male form. They're completely wrong for hot young dancers.I come from a culture where manufactured singers who are more celebrities and cash cows - which I believe Shawn is - aren't a thing yet. Trust me I haven't listened to a single song of Shawn voluntarily. At 30 I have been out of the loop of current popstars for years. However you can't escape knowing about Shawn especially being gay on the internet. I have zero attraction to him. Like I said maybe because almost all current mainstream male singers are plainly hideous really imo or seem to do the best to hide any semblance of attractiveness Shawn who I think is mediocre at best is so hyped for his looks. He only gets my attention because I think it's so obvious he's gay. If you don't see it then I'm sorry for your gaydar. Also the fact that he's always one of the most boringly dressed on the red carpet which is another story. In that aspect he ironically reminds me of Sam Smith who people apparently thought Shawn insulted. Both have no idea how to dress as men but I suspect a Sam Smith like coming out in the future full on gender fluid and the whole shebang. I recently introduced myself to Kpop and it's mainly because of a couple of their 'idols' and it made me realize why I'm not into Western male popstars. Better looking and can actually dance and better wardrobe even jewellery before Harry Styles. Less sexualisation of females. They can act cute with each other and no issues about complicated sexuality. If I want to look at manufactured singers then I'll watch them. These guys are part of an industry-sized machine popping out dozens of band members that each don't need to say or do much beyond lip sync and speak 12 words an interview. They're primarily there to dance and look pretty while their voices blend together. I suppose Mendes (or more One Direction) are similar...and that's why I don't take any of it seriously. But there's something sad about these guys for me.
Also Shawn doesn't perform like this because he's not a dancer. It's not some psychological block that's thwarting him from being Michael Jackson, who also performed better than this while having all sorts of psychological issues.
y'all really will find everything to be homophobic. to me it's kinda annoying the 'Shawn is/isn't gay' conversation because of how seriously people take it, but it's by far not offensive
