well, people have been accusing him of being closeted and seceetly gay since he was sixteen, so it's understandable he's sick of it. And that last part, even when he is seen in public with women people will still don't believe he's straight.

He was still getting women, I would understand if the gay rumors limited his ability to get women and then it was an issue, but it didn’t, all these girls want him, wanted him and he could easily get them. Being bothered by ppl thinking your gay is dump. Most male pop stars get accused of this.

I think the real issue is Shawn thinks being gay is bad. Hence this visceral negative reaction. Even after all these years he is singing about it now.
