Sniffies reject

This happened to me yesterday and I’m still smarting from it.

I logged onto Sniffies to see who is around for a random pick up. There were maybe four or five guys within about four blocks walk from where I live. While looking, one of these men messages with a semi naked pic of himself and says hi. Gives his age (43) and what he’s into. I respond likewise. Several minutes later he messages back and says he doesn’t ‘fuck dead people’. I’m only 10 years older than him and my age was actually on the profile to begin with. He messaged me, not me him. Then he deleted the entire conversation stream and pisses off.

I know men on pick up sites don’t owe you anything but it seems incredibly rude to treat another human being like that. How about some consideration.

That was astonishingly rude. You should be grateful that he revealed who he is immediately - you are lucky to be rid of him.

Bottom line… these apps have a lot of fucking nuts on them! Some people are too fucked for words.

Yeah, I’m beginning to realise that now. It was a blessing.

I know how you feel . When I was fresh on Grindr during college I would get called gorilla , blackie, the n word and all that stuff when I sent pics to people or just flat out blocked . It was incredibly rude . And over time it has varied between decent and worse . I’m a reject on Twitter, Grindr, lpsg ( I never get any likes on post of myself ) and more though somehow I’ve done stuff with some straight guys and have had a boyfriend and guys who semi like me . Hence why I won’t even try sniffles at all. So I say fuck it it’s gonna be like that sometimes . I find it best to be confident or to just not be on the sites .

I’m sorry to hear you went through that. That’s fucking awful. I’m moving towards moving away from apps altogether. I’m Greek and a guy I met recently at a beat said he doesn’t do wogs and just walked away. Not sure if Americans know that term. But it’s basically what Anglos in Australia call anyone who is Greek or Italian or has mildly brown skin. I appreciate everyone has their own personal tastes but why use pejoratives like wog or what you got called? Say no thanks and depart. Funny thing is I expect a lot from gay guys and I’m almost always disappointed.
