Squats and bad knees

Goblet squats are my fave. My trainer has modified my squats and other items so that I am squatting to the level of a bench without sitting on it.

is that similar to a box squat I would assume?

I was curiuos about an update it has been over six mnths so you should have a good feel for if you made progress etc

I haven't read the full thread, has anyone suggested squatting onto a bench or box? It can help keep the strain off the knee at the point of returning to up right. Squat onto the bench sit then stand back up. I find the majority of knee pain is in the switch between going lower then going back up.

An option I'm starting to explore is pausing during the working part of tbe rep, you can also pause the bottom. I'm going to pause at about 33% and 66% of the motion range. I'll see if if makes a difference longer term but its just another option in the bag.
