Hear here! Exactly. Members spamming admins to shut down posts that threaten their idealized fantasies about performers or their labels for themselves is EXACTLY what goes on far too much here. People INSIST on having their imaginary relationships, which is stoopid, asinine and sad.I'll take exception to that. The past threads got messy, sure, but there was very little namecalling in the last Kit Connor thread - and I should know, since I did call someone a name and got Warned for it loll! But it was an isolated incident. Most of the thread was a lovefest over his viral sensation gym pix this past week.
What happened instead was a lot of complimentary posts talking about how hot he was were suddenly deleted. As soon as some folks who do not like sexy talk about the cast of Kit Connor's TV show got to the board and got wind of his gym pix going viral all over social media, several thirsty posts that weren't against the rules (not mine, but other people's) began getting randomly reported and removed and then the entire thread went down in a matter of hours. Nothing went apeshit in there during that time.
And we were told, in the last post by Support, that it wasn't about namecalling. We were told it was about posts that could jeopardize LPSG. But there was nothing doing that that I saw, certainly nothing that warranted a permanent lock. There were no posts discussing the characters of the TV show he's on (I did mention the title of the show and was told even that was unacceptable, so I am not doing that now), just how hot Kit Connor was or how hot his hairy muscletits were in his gym pix. And just talking about those tits got posts removed. (Will they again because I mention them here?)
The only conclusion I can come to, after repeat experiences with this and with certain folks in multiple threads for several performers, is that there are overzealous fans who are posters on this forum who cannot tell the difference between a TV show and reality, cannot accept the forum treating Kit Connor as someone other than his role on TV and discussing him as a sexy adult male, and are willing to spam reports to the Admin to shut down those threads if they can't stop adult-oriented discussion about him and some other actors. And that's unfair to the bulk of the thread which AFAIC played by the rules.
But MisterB knows how I feel about this and I appreciated him listening, so I'm just adding my two cents. I don't blame him, but I think it's ridiculous that we have to tolerate schoolmarm posters trying to control the board via report spam to 'protect' celebrities who are adult men.
