Sometimes we get caught up on doing the right thing simply to enjoy the benefits firsthand.
As if we never consumed junk food, we hear about the benefits of grass feed cattle. Passing the nutrition on to us, the milk and beef is healthier.
In many ways it's better for the environment, too.
For example, the consistency of the manure is different. The more fiber rich manure from grass fed cattle is better for dung beetles. Besides contributing to recycling, the soil is aerated more, making the field stronger. Feces is processed faster, decreasing diseases. And there's less pests. With higher populations of dung beetles, there's fewer horn flies.
