Because for the past year or so there have been a steady stream of actors that play a gay role and come out with almost the exact same statement “I’ve only liked women but who knows? I don’t like labels”. It’s so obvious that they have been coached to make this kind of statement to avoid criticism over getting cast over a gay actor.

a) he isn’t hurting anybody
b) he’s not going to fuck you
c) he’s clearly an ally at least
d) things evolve and actors come out years after playing queer for the first time all the time.

Move the fuck on. Rockstars have been doing this since the 70s. Unless he is actively voting for Republicans or donating money to anti LGBTQ+ causes, there is no harm in keeping a mystery up about his sex life to titillate his audience. It’s no different than pop stars being told not to share if they are dating someone because they want the stars to seem like they are within reach to their fans.
