I could be in the minority here but believe this scene was so intense. The moment there was just silence between the two and you can feel the repressed emotions along with the caged sexual desire

I know this is probably wrong but I almost feel like they had to add him being bi to this storyline for frenchie (Tomer) to be liked again. Don’t get me wrong, he’s always been my favorite character and probably even more now, but he’s been under a lot of heat lately for his stance on the things happening in Gaza given the fact he’s from Israel. There were tons of comments under his IG bashing him and even on the boyz IG telling them to kill off his character because of this.

My commentary:
I must admit that I was a bit disappointed at the warp speed by which this kiss took place. I was anticipating a storyline of Frenchie struggling with his sexuality while hiding it from his teammates with the build up playing out slowly. Instead writers jumped right in without any backstory. It felt rushed! Almost as if they needed two LGBT characters to quickly insert into the series just to check a box. It lacked the intensity of the scene prior when they encountered each other in the bathroom. And with it happening outside around a mob of people it didn’t feel intimate nor special.

I mean their back story evolves over episode 1,2, 3 … and the S4 ep3 kiss was better uwu

I know this is probably wrong but I almost feel like they had to add him being bi to this storyline for frenchie (Tomer) to be liked again. Don’t get me wrong, he’s always been my favorite character and probably even more now, but he’s been under a lot of heat lately for his stance on the things happening in Gaza given the fact he’s from Israel. This started filming two years ago... And while the attacks happening in Gaza have long been happening before the Hamas attack on Israel in October. They couldn't have predicted all of this happening to make his character and actor more likeable. It just is what it is.

I'm all for more gay Frenchie scenes but man I hate the way they went from 0 to 100 with this relationship within the span of half an episode. We didn't even know who that other guy was, and we're supposed to believe they've been in love for a while. Just so rushed and weird. Compare this to all the straight relationships the show has had.

Annie/Hughie literally have a whole ass season of them developing their relationship. Obviously a character like Frenchie won't get the same treatment, especially with a side character who just showed up. But you'd think the writers would at least put some effort in.

I just think it's a natural progression. They said last season that him and Kimiko were more family than romantic. They've mentioned before that Frenchie is sexually free and fluid. He looked for love somewhere else. Just a man now.

Why would he hide it or struggle with it? He always seemed comfortable with himself and this isn't a teen drama. But I do agree that it felt a bit rushed since we have no reason to care about this new character or care about the kiss since it feels so empty.

Okay, I’m halfway through Ep1 S4 (The Boys) and I was shocked by the Frenchie bisexual storyline. Didn’t see any signs of this in seasons 1-3. I will upload video in subsequent posts.

SCENE: Frenchie runs into an old acquaintance he met while attending drug rehab meeting long ago. In this scene the build up is intense and it seems like Frenchie is conflicted by his feelings. Just after they lock eyes Frenchie barges out of the bathroom seemingly trying to deny his feelings for the tall dark stranger.
