Recorded in October 1958 at the Norman Petty Studio in Clovis, NM less than 4 months before Buddy Holly climbed aboard an ill-fated Beechcraft Bonanza with three other young entertainers at the Mason City airport. This recording is unusual in that it includes a 10-second pre-recording track. True Love Ways also utilizes the Dick Jacobs Orchestra with a rather large string section and the best tenor sax in the desert southwest. This was to be Holly's last recording session.
