i actually know someone that knows him and they say that he’s still not like REALLY out like he’s lowkey mad at that girl cus if you even notice in the live he never like really said it himself so i kinda feel bad for him cus she basically publicly outed him whether it was obvious or not

Well, it wasn't the results he had hoped for, but still, making it to his second Olympics is an accomplishment in itself.
I am a numbers guy, and I crunched numbers during his dives. After his second dive, he had a 45% chance of at least taking bronze. After the third dive, Greg had an almost failed dive and pushed them to last place, moving their probability of 3rd to 5%. After that, there was just no coming back.
I'm really gutted for both of them, but it was still a long shot, even if they had managed to avoid a bad third dive. But Tyler is still young and in the early part of his diving career, so I highly doubt we have seen the last of him.
Just a personal opinion I think he is going to come out before the next Olympic cycle. It will likely be along the lines of being true to yourself or something like that.

Now he can focus on what he’s really good at… fucking.
I don't think formally "coming out" is really a thing with the current generation. That's a good thing. It doesn't need to be an announcement. People don't announce they are straight.

But given obviously the past Olympics like he’s not performing as well as he probably should be. Still qualified so impressive of course (not downplaying that, I’d love to go to one let alone two).

What? He’ll be at the next Olympics with a different partner. Did you not watch the event? It wasn’t Tyler who made the mistake and took them out of contention it was the other guy Greg. He’s got one more in him. Hell, Daley might do one last one in LA too.
I was thinking the same thing. I was looking at the scores for Tyler himself (three judges watch one diver, three judges watch the other diver, and the rest watch the synchro), and Tyler did well, actually. So, yes, it was Greg.
I think Tom and Tyler will keep diving for as long as they can. Tom, especially, I don't think he can give it up. It is all he really knows. However, Tom has other things he can fall back on. He is too well known not to fall into something media or sports-related. Now, with Tyler, he is hardly known at all. Yes, he has a huge TikTok following, but that doesn't pay the bills, and since he hasn't actually won a medal at the Olympics and given how young he is, I doubt he finds anything like Tom would.
