It’s very mixed at the gym I go to. But you’re right. I often seen guys in their 20-30’s wearing clothes and even shoes in the sauna. It’s gross.I started going to a well known national gym about a year ago. There is a sauna and hot tub in the men's locker room.
I'm in my 40s, and my whole life, when going to the gym, you were expected to shower after. And if you sat in the sauna you would take a towel and go nude in the hot tub.
What I've found though is literally I am the only person that does that. In over a year, I don't think I have seen another guy shower before going in the sauna, nor come in with a towel only.
50% of the guys wear their sweaty boxer briefs, with no shower. The others come in their work out gear, including often shoes.
It blows my mind they don't know basic hygiene or are too scared of their dick and balls to do it. It's smelly. Many of them even go dress in their regular clothes after being in the sauna, with soaking wet underwear.
Age range is probably 25 to 30 years old average. There are periodic older guys, but see situation.
Is this now normal?
Btw the gym doesnt provide towels, which may cause some of the problem. But it's not hard to bring a towel.
The gym/pool/sauns where I go has a shower right outide the sauna room especially for the sauna users andthere is a sign saying' please shower before entering or exiting the sauna'.I've seen it a few times, this and also people who don't shower before the sauna.
Worse, I´ve seen people who don´t shower after the sauna.I've seen it a few times, this and also people who don't shower before the sauna.
Saw a person at the gym use a blow dryer after working out. No shower or "hit the pits" at the bathroom sink. #NastyAssWorse, I´ve seen people who don´t shower after the sauna.
....Efficiency? Washing dressed means less laundry to do at home. It could also mean they have a mental disorder you can never tell what's going on inside someones head.I was at a gym once and this older handsome guy was the in the sauna in his tight white briefs. He wasn't hiding anything to be honest. They we wet with sweat and you could see the entire outline of his cock. He would then go to the communal showers, shower for a few minutes in them, and then take them off and let his big fat cock flop out and swing free. It was always fun to watch but I never understood why
Surely not efficiency. How much more efficient is it to wash out ONE pair of briefs? And what man who's showing off his cock and balls in his briefs is thinking about laundry?....Efficiency? Europe chased Americans out?Unfortunately, America's Puritan heritage lives on. Europe was smart to chase them out
The part where it flopped out sounds hotI was at a gym once and this older handsome guy was the in the sauna in his tight white briefs. He wasn't hiding anything to be honest. This post illustrates the USA's total confusion between nakedness and sexuality. This FEAR of nudity among men now is disastrous for the male psyche.
Sauans should be used naked, or at the most a towel wrapped around you, but then you have to untuck it and let it loosely hang on your thighs. The norm in my experience is that one thigh is uncovered and the corner of the towel covers your junk so you have an excuse to touch it when recovering, but really as a signal that you're interested.
Of course, in my 20's I went to this uni sauna that was astoundingly active. Circle jerks almost daily, I kid you not. I wore my Bub jockstrap in there most of the time but with a towel to sit on.
You have a towel to cover yourself up, you don't need underwear. So many reasons why it's a terrible idea.
Germany here
The towel is not to cover yourself - it stops the natural ventilation of the skin in the dry heat of the sauna. It is there to sit on and, if sitting on a high bench, to rest your feet on and avoid contaminating the bench below you with sweat, etc. from your feet.towel is not to cover yourself Unfortunately, America's Puritan heritage lives on. Just shows how sad the times are, my military time you'd have been lynched if you wore anything in the shower.Even when I went to a military gym guys were rarely nude in the sauna. Usually they wore compression shorts. When I went to the local LA Fitness, I never saw anyone nude in the sauna.
Only once did I see someone wear underwear in that shower, but the sauna... never saw anyone nude there.Just shows how sad the times are, my military time you'd have been lynched if you wore anything in the shower.
It does sort of defeat the object!Only once did I see someone wear underwear in that shower, but the sauna... never saw anyone nude there.
