Erik actually came off as misogynistic on twitter - retweeting this pseudo-intellectual, right wing, men are being oppressed type stuff. Come to think of it, years ago I also listened to an interview he did where he said straight porn stars don't need to worry about HIV because "you know" (some implying that it was a gay problem). He just seemed really dim. Maybe that has something to do with it. In my mind, and I know this might be very offensive but I don't mean it to be, these guys are just very dim and very easy to 'radicalise'. Not hard to imagine some of the big wigs in the industry leaning to the right politically.

I know I'm over analysing here and going on to long, but I've been thinking about this post and those above for a while. It bothered me a lot when I saw Voodoo's MAGA lunacy, so much so that now I avert my eyes from any twitter post by him except photos. If I spent any money on him I'd definitely had stopped... but I guess I'm a bit radicalised too... even though I'm sure we wouldn't get along if we met, I can't stop feasting my eyes on him. Go figure.

I don't particularly find it surprising at all. From what a lot of data shows, the most conservative states are the ones with the highest and sometimes weirdest porn searches in the country. So, it's not hard to imagine them being conservative as well at least in their beliefs if not in there sexual escapades I guess

This broader subject was on my mind recently (mostly because Bruce Venture is turning out to have a rather firm right leaning perspective). As much as there's probably a lot of merit to the 'data' you reference, I think that maybe we're over complicating it. What I mean is, if you think about the stigma and embarrassment associated with sex work, if you're down and out and desperate, some people still wouldn't consider sex work but some would. It sort of follows that those who can overlook the stigma probably don't believe in getting state help / just make money by any means - a mind set sort of in line with fiscal conservatism. Other people would rather beg than turn to porn/sex work.

I don't think I'm being clear but, it seems so much clearer in my mind. I just had a moment of... 'well of course people who do porn are right leaning, they're probably more likely to "be stand on your own to feet", 'personal responsibility', "don't complain about life's challenges" type of people, and I think that's a more strongly right-wing script /approach to life.

There will be those in the industry of course who just like sex so much they've dreamt of it being their profession but... yeah I think you get what I mean.

Sorry this response is just out of the blue, and probably stating the obvious, but I just had to tell someone !! :grinning:

I think I can see where you're coming from. What still upsets me though is they're doing basically the exact same work has anyone else in the porn industry yet they still associate themselves with far-right close-minded people who are sometimes still actively, at least in the public eye, trying to shut down the porn industry. If it's for fiscal reasons like you had mentioned, it still doesn't excuse the fact that they support someone or a party that actively calls them deplorable are disgusting. Do I have notice not with all, but with some men in the straight porn industry they have a lot of homophobia so anyone who is against gay people even the gay porn industry, they gravitate towards them. Even though they're doing the exact same work as the other people just with the opposite sex but they feel like they're more Superior

Oh I agree with you there. One of the major downsides of social media has been learning about the warped views many adult stars have. But what can you do? They'll believe that they believe, and be who they are. I've decided to just ignore it all. Voodoo, Bruce Venture, Erik Everhard (to name a few), all idiots, but I'll continue to drool over them. It helps also that I get much of their content free. If I was paying for anything of theirs I'd probably have stopped, save it for "nice guys" lol.
