I (25M) was at the gym yesterday and this guy kept checking me out (we were making eye contact often) and he would often come workout on a machine next to me wherever I would I would go. I just want to know if he was checking me out and maybe have some locker room fun.

I agree with @BDappreciator: Just introduce yourself if/when you see him eyeing you again.

I always say, unless the gay is blatantly exhibiting that he's gay, the gym is one of the most difficult places to tell if a guy is checking you out in a sexual manner or simply out of curiosity/admiration. Gym guys naturally check each other out to see how they compare to one another, see what other guys' exercise routines are like, and watch how other guys use machines/equipment for ideas on what they can incorporate into their own workouts.

A lot of it is up in the air and you can't really assume...unless, as you mentioned, there is repeated eye contact. Str8 gym guys will "check out" one another from the neck down, unless they're looking to get the other guy's attention or make conversation.

Out walking early and as I went through a gate to exercise my dog another guy was also going through with his dog. A little bit of a double-take from both of us and smiles.
