This is still a leap in logic. My parents have never supported me in college because I don't need the support. Same could be for him. We don't know we aren't his friend. Its super parasocial. I don't think if you're loaded that your parents care if you're going to college or not as long as you're doing something in life. In my case my parents are happy that im exceeding their expectations. Yet I don't need them at all which makes them sad.

It's okay if your friend didn't wish you a happy birthday. It doesn't mean they don't care about you. Maybe they're just busy or forgot. If they're fighting, they'll figure it out. Don't worry too much about it. There's also the thing people grow apart. I literally reconnected with my 2nd ever best friend after 8 years and we're stronger friends now that we were in the past.
