It's okay if your friend didn't wish you a happy birthday. It doesn't mean they don't care about you. Maybe they're just busy or forgot. If they're fighting, they'll figure it out. Don't worry too much about it. There's also the thing people grow apart. I literally reconnected with my 2nd ever best friend after 8 years and we're stronger friends now that we were in the past. I just hope that he likes my 3rd best friend that I've known for about6 years now.
