Zantac (rinitadine) a drug use to treat stomach ulcers and gastritis, is also know to cause ED (erectile disfunction), but not a lot of men are aware of this fact.

So if you have gradually developed ED (erectile disfunction) after being prescribed ZANTAC (rinitadine). This could be the cause, so see your doctor and discuss the posibility with them.

I was first prescribed Zantac back in the 80s (back then it hadn't made it to a lower dosage, over the counter variety and was only available from a doctor or through prescription) and I don't recall it causing any problems and I took it for approximately 3 years. It was again given to me in the 90s-again, no problem over the course of 2 years.

Oh, wait-maybe there was a problem. I did eventually develop a rather bothersome stomach cancer. However, until the meds and chemo and depression set in for that, I was still sexually functioning quite nicely.

I've been on Ranitidine (150 to 300 mg/day) for a few years now. I have noticed that I rarely get full wood -- I mean the throbbing flagpole impaler of doom that I got in my 20's. My body really changed when I hit 30.

Edit:
After reading Northland's post, ED problems seem kinda petty.

This is because ranitidine (Zantac) is a histamine H2 receptor-blocker, and histamine activity is part of the sexual process.

If you have heartburn/reflux issues, try Omeprazole (now available over the counter - I get mine at Wal-Mart). It is generic Prilosec. This kind of medicine (and other proton-pump inhibitors like it) do NOT interfere with the arousal/erection/orgasm process at all.

I'm sure you could get your mojo back, if so inspired...don't count the old dog out so soon.

Is that a side effect of Viagra?:biggrin1:
If you read the possible side effects of Viagra, it is listed I think. That is because a certain number of guys done's respond to Viagra so that makes ED a side effect as far as the government is concerned even though the person already had it before sltarting the medication.
