I can’t grow a decent beard at the best of times. Whenever I have attempted to, Mrs. Squirrel has made the comment that I look like a rapist.

I find that having a beard makes me look like someone who has a beard.

On the other hand, if I didn't have a beard, I would probably look like someone who doesn't have a beard.
I beard. Therefore I am. Lol

Do beards make men look like sexual predators. Are men with beards treated differently, more respected compared to clean shaven men.
This is quite a silly idea. Especially considering that currently beards are in style. Sexual predators don’t have a specific look.

I think beards represent something that is untamed my society, harkening back to our earlier roots of our only concerns were of food, water, shelter with someone to share our bed.

Don’t think they look predatorial ... unless you want to be the prey lol.

I don't think it can make a man look predatorial.
I think it can make you look more mature and manlier. When I didn't have my beard people thought I was way younger.
I went shopping after it grew out and a lady thought I was buying all those things for my wife (I'm single). I laughed though and could see her point of view.

The opposite actually, I think into adulthood a naturally smooth faced man is considered more predatorial along the creep spectrum wherein varying levels of beard/stache combo invoke feelings of maturity and trust.. with the exception of pornstaches and very thin trims

Some men look good with a beard, some look good without. Since a couple of years there is this beard trend that almost every guy follows. Which is a bit sad because some men definately look better without a beard but because of that trend they think they have to grow one. My grandmother always says: A beard makes an ugly man look good and a handsome man ugly. I have to say there is a bit of truth to that.

I can't really grow a beard well. I think I look better without facial hair anyway. I had a FWB years ago tell me she thought I would look sexier with a beard. I assured her I would not. I tried it and she agreed that it really wasn't that great.

Uhumm Mustaches make men look like pedofiles/rapists/truck or motorcycle drivers.
That is an ..interesting.. grouping of people that you've lumped together.

Do beards make men look like sexual predators. Are men with beards treated differently, more respected compared to clean shaven men.
I guess it all depends on what your mental imagery of what a sexual predator looks like. For the record, they generally look like everyone. If you pooled all the predators together into one album, you'd see representatives from all aspects of society, with every physical description across the spectrum.

I think beards on some men look freaking fantastic. As in, I lose my sense of will and will do whatever they want. Some guys just have the face, and the personality/charsima to really pull it off.

Other guys..not so much. It's like they are trying on an ill-fitted piece of clothing that makes them look ridiculous.

I understand the predatory vibe though..I think because men specifically have such a predilection towards adaptation, there's a collective understanding that a predatory man is always looking for ways to overstep barriers and gain access and not be questioned, all of which are privileges society grants to men in authority or in trusted positions. Priests and teachers aren't inherently predatorial; the predators seek out these positions to gain their accesses. Same could be said for police, coaches, politicians, etc.
The beard on a man is no different from the mane of a lion in a sense, or the plumage on a bird; virility, authority, and experience all rolled up into one, so it makes sense many predatory men consciously or subconsciously adopt it as part of their image as it serves their purposes.
Can happen to almost anyone or anything...look at how we view the ultimate symbol of utilitarian normalcy, the windowless panel van.
