Bikinis

I tan nude when I can, but I really don't care too much about the tan lines when I have to keep the bikini on.

For me it's purely about getting my skin to calm down. I've posted pics of my psoriasis before, and after a few tanning sessions it's completely gone.

So you use a tanning booth for nude tanning verse laying out in the sun nude? As for keeping the bikini on, what about different bikinis? Aren’t the cuts always a bit different for the same style or class? Doesn’t that show a tan line outline or edge if one is a bit smaller?

No tanning booth for me, those aren't free like the :sun:

I don't like buying clothes, including bathing suits. I get one and wear it until it's falling apart.

I used to do nude tanning at my desert house when I was stationed out there. I had the privacy on my patio and tons of endless sun. I made the mistake my first time by laying my dick across my thigh. Not only did it end up two tone but I had a dick shaped tan line on my thigh. Bwahahahaha

This alabaster skin requires 115 spf like a baby. While you all bask in the sun like lizards, I'll be sipping on pink lemonade under a parasol ;)

I'm lucky to live in a fairly private area of my community, I only have to worry about being seen nude on occasion. I can comfortably and safely tan in my own yard.

Just 20 minutes at a time, ten minutes each side is enough to make my very irritable skin happy.

Haha, dick-lines

Save the leopard!
From someone who goes spotty in the sun.

Since you brought it up, that was going to be a side question.

What does everyone do about it handle tanlines? How do you minimize them or not get them at all?
I think bikini tan lines can be sexy. With my pasty-paleness, the white bits serve as a beacon to the best parts. ;)

BUT if you're wearing a nice strapless or backless dress, it does take away from the ensemble. That's why I said problem/benefit. It's a benefit when I'm wearing somewhat revealing clothes, but having the gradual fade from tan to white doesn't work as efficiently as the "right here, dummy!" of a defined tan line.

I get dark. My brown half has no issues with sun exposure, I just get caramel colored and soft.

Sunshine is my medicine. One of 'em. I like those natural remedies.

Well, theoretically, enough freckles make a tan.

When I lived elsewhere, I just went to clothing optional beaches and pools.

The second piece of clothing I bought after my breast reduction surgery was a bikini. The third was a bikini too! FYI, the first was a bra. I bought a matronly bikini for the beach and an arctic white abbreviation, as my husband called it. So, I guess it was a b'kini.

No, it did not feel like underwear. It made underwear feel like I was overdressed! I've worn it twice.

I go for comfort first. I like solid colors. Preferably white or light pink or black. Usually I have to get a smaller bottom than what normally comes with the right sized tops, so I like stores that sell them separately.

There's one thing that I never understood. The "TANKINI"
I get the purpose. I get that it helps conceal areas of the belly, potentially helping women feel better about their bodies. But for goodness sake why call it that. Oh yeah. Lemme just get into my tankini here. It's able to withstand category 4 hurricane winds.

How come no bikinis before the reduction? Was it a fitment issue or a body image issue?

I realize this may be too personal so if it is don’t bother answering.

I only wear them. I don't feel comfortable in a two piece. I feel like I'm wearing underwear in public. Just feels weird and overexposed, hypersexualized. I swear I feel much better nude. I cannot wear a one piece. My top is two or more dress sizes bigger than my bottom. Tankini is perfect. Feels more like wearing pajamas in public. I'd still rather be nude. It feels less flashy and attention-getting than a bikini. I don't like when unknown men stare, and it is difficult to vanish at the beach. Too open.

Why is it called tankini. Look at the top. It's a camisol/tank cut.

I got one for all the women out here is LPSG land.

Bikinis

What’s your criteria for choosing one? I know there are over a billion different styles and shapes out there, so how do you choose?

I would like to hear all the criteria that you use to figure it out. Please be honest even if it’s raw or as blunt as “it makes my boobs look amazing” or “shows them off the best”.
Thank you very much.

Mmmm Bikini's,
I'm a plus size woman with very large boobies and a large bottom (224lbs atm) and very comfortable and proud of my body. A lot of the time choosing a bikini is more down to practicality, I want it to hold my boobs and not give me a wedgy. My bottom and lady bits like to gobble everything up and my boobs like to escape, if I'm wearing a bikini that usually means I going to want to have a swim too so it definitely has to hold things and be comfortable as well, often I just wear a swimsuit for this reason.

It was a healthy dose of both. Women (and men) of a certain size learn how to dress to minimize exaggerations.

Despite all of my attempts to be decent I was still accosted by an irate mother who berated me for scandalizing her progeny. That was probably the bottom of the barrel for me. I was too shocked to have a comeback, so I stayed away from the beach for a long time after that.

That does suck, I'm sorry that had to happen. I have had more than one friend who's mom and or dad was like that.

The same reason you list for a bikini... separate purchasing. I typically need a much smaller bottom than top (coverage/modesty is why I settled on short length board shorts and a rash guard).
if I were traveling somewhere and a “proper” bathing suit was needed, I’d go with a tankini.
