I liked this Buick but not its Dynaflow (often called Dynaslow in the day) automatic transmission. It was so smooth it spoiled the performance potential of the great Buick engines. Pontiac, Oldsmobile and Cadillac cars normally had the high performance Hydramatic automatic transmission at this time. Chevrolet of course had Powerglide.

I preferred driving the straight shift Buick Wildcats. They were as fast as Oldsmobiles from 0 to 60 with top speeds over 100 mph. They performed like Oldsmoibille 88's.

I was never sure whether the pickup merely distilled the brew or ran on it as well. I think it distilled it and offloaded it to speakeasies. Running on it would be too much of a good thing. You know those guys got super rich.
