I agree! Look forward to these announcements being ordinary and routine and eventually not even needing an announcement. Tho i think with respect to Luke his lower profile is probably also part of the reason why there's less news coverage

Bringing this thread back on topic, Carl's coming out will always be the classiest for his tone-perfect, mic-drop coming out with no follow-up interviews. But then he has a $25 million contract, so no need for the hustle.

It's been over a month since Carl came out and he still hasn't done any press. Do I have that right? Love this guy so much. I'm dying for his first sit-down interview, but I think it's amazing he's not giving it to us. He's just putting his head down and doing his job like it's no big deal. Could I be any more impressed with him?? Writing a new script for how athletes can come out and then just Get. On. With. It.

No one should make their sole identity their sexuality. Straight people are not expected to and gay men and women should know that they are more than just being gay. And I think he's leading by example.
I'm not surprised. He used social media to come out and control his own narrative and left it at that. Whether he meant to or not, he's normalizing it by not making a big thing of it. It's kind of refreshing.
I’m guessing he’s busy with training camp, and had the strategy of announce it, then just proceed as usual.
This guy is the best gay celebrity to come out. He’s just so normal and focused on his career, not his sexuality. All the professional gays should watch and learn.
I get the feeling his teammates are homophobes. Not a single one showed visible or public support when he came out, even while major players on other teams reached out via social media. He even said he didn’t tell them beforehand. His journey may have been harder than we know
