Charles Melton (riverdale)

Straight in public. I have read a lot of gossip sites that claim he's bi tho.
Gossip sites claim that about every good looking actor. Most gossip sites are published by thirsty gay men (or women with a fetish for dudes trying butt stuff) attempting to use their moderate to minimal writing capabilities to will their fantasies into reality.

Damn. Spot on. So true and so very obvious.

I don't see Charles winning. Unfortunately, he didn't make BAFTA's longlist. The race is between Robert Downey Jr. and Ryan Gosling. A nomination would be Charles' win.
I don't disagree with that, for Best Supporting is often a symbolic win after a decades long film career, or awarded as a consolation prize for failure to acknowledge a performance an actor gave in a leading role, which would definitely give Downey and Gosling an edge over Charles.

I don't think this is particularly true. In the past like 7 years apart from Brad Pit and Sa Rockwell, none of the winners have been famous or had big solid careers behind them. Troy Kotsur and Ke Huy Quan were basically unknown before the Awards season started

Ke Huy Quan was about as far from unknown as you could get. In fact, I'd say a huge part of his win last year was due to the nostalgia everyone had for Indiana Jones and Goonies. It was basically the comeback of a lifetime. He was also great in the film.

Articles were made saying he was a forgotten child actor, prior to last year I don't think a lot of people would have recognised Ke Huy Quan if they passed him along the street. He hadn't had a substantial role in like 30 years.

I haven't said he wasn't great in his movie, he was.

Well hopefully he looks good on all the red carpets this season.

I do highly doubt he wins anything major other than say an Indie Spirit Award for Supporting Performance (with them being non-gendered that will be much harder to do...). The Oscar nomination was always the win for him to me since I never believed he had a chance to overtake RDJ, Gosling, or even Ruffalo.

Let's just hope he gets that because at this point I could also see him being snubbed. There is always 1 person or maybe even up to 3 people who hit all precursors and STILL fail to hear their name Oscar nomination morning.

And he already is down the potential to get a BAFTA nomination after missing out on the long list (some BS for sure) so he wouldn't even qualify for that dubious honor...

If you like him and or his performance in May December set up the shrine now.

I just hope he gets nominated. That alone would boost his career majorly
That's the only thing he wants. He could care less about winning that is only a bonus. He just wants the nomination. It's going to be a career boom for him.
