Colton underwood- american football player

Queer eye is family friendly because it’s their brand but Netflix has soft porn in most of their original tv shows

Yeah this isn’t a drama. It’s a reality show. He won’t be naked and that’s a guarantee. You’re getting a tv show designed for a soft straight audience, mostly likely young straight teenage girls and women in their 30’s who love Etsy, and that’s gonna be it. There won’t be any nudity or anything like of that sort. People forget he’s a conservative and a Christian. Whilst his criminal past doesn’t reflect that he devout to his religion, he won’t be naked.

Criminal past? Jesus you guys are harsh. Cut him some fucking slack.

...why?

If he didn't look aesthetically easy on the eye those sucking up to him wouldn't give a shit.
Another thing to feel guilty right? I like a handsome guy so I must feel guilty about it too..what else would be racist from now on? Breathing?

You jumped straight to that, wow.
You said Straight! No I jumped Gay to that! I am gay, so telling me I jumped Straight to that is racist!

See what I mean? Quit shaming and guilt tripping people, we like the dude, he might be an ass and an opportunist but we don't want him for president, only for a lover ;)

I have no issues with that, but those defending him and his political beliefs simply because he is good looking will get all the shame.

Defending his political beliefs?? This is America, not fucking China, and this country was founded upon differences of political opinion. There is no “right way” to think or vote. So relax vato.

No, but certain political beliefs are founded in ignorance and bigotry. Btw, I'm not from America. :kissing_heart:

"Criminal?" Damn. He may be a media whore, but he wasn't convicted by a jury. You can't just listen to one side and state their absolute facts.

If that's the case then why are you getting on people for not agreeing with Colton's beliefs. He's free to say and support whatever he wants. We are free to hold said opinions against him. Freedom is a two-way street.

Btw, does anyone know when this show is set to stream on Netflix? I'm wondering how deep into 2021 it will go.

I find him to be an attention/media whore but wondering whether it’s more important for him to come out and be seen as normal by young kids across the country. Maybe the good outweighs the bad? Not sure...
The "normal" ship has sailed after the stalking incidents. Gay kids already see being gay as less of a big deal. A lot has changed in the past decade. TikTok gays are more likely to be of comfort and influence over a TV show.

What I think this will do is re-enforce the idea that certain people are unaccountable and will be accepted by society simply because of the way they look. Too me, the message is tainted. Who knows, maybe he will have redeeming qualities highlighted in the show. I doubt it but you never know.

We can acknowledge and talk about whatever mental health issues, insecurities, internalized phobias, sociological pressures Colton has perhaps gone through. I would also say that there is a bit of a double-standard. If this were a female under the same circumstances and journey she wouldn’t be getting nearly as much flack.

However, you can’t manipulate the facts. He has gotten the opportunities he’s been gotten and continues to get primarily because he’s white and conventionally good-looking to most. Last year he had a restraining order against him and was accused of harassing, badgering and tracking his ex girlfriend. He hasn’t denied any of this and has pretty much confirmed it in a round-about way. He claims that he wasn’t dealing with confusions, fluidity or contradictions. He knew that he didn’t have any legit interests in women. Yet, he still signed up to be “The Bachelor” and do all that mess on TV for years. While just last year he used being a “straight virgin” and his hetero relationship to promote a book. He chose to reveal his “gayness” in a self-promoting interview. While we did find out about his new Netflix show and new book deal the same day that interview aired. And it does appear that he has/had Conservative politics.

This is the reality of the shit. Whether you choose to support him or “forgive and forget” or wait to see how he behaves and presents himself in the future or you simply don’t care, that is up to you. But don’t try to manipulate the reality of things.

I love when disingenuous reactionary asshats just use this Colton guy to feed their bullshit victim narrative. For the last time....

People don't hate him just because he is white, or because he's attractive you clowns. That's a total lie and pure narrative.

They hate the unearned praise he is receiving from various media despite being a pretty toxic person and doing the bare minimum. They hate the implicit bias so many have towards him because he is attractive and white. Enough to overlook all his negative qualities and put him on some pedestal. That's the issue.
Sure
