I take it he didn’t win? Hopefully it’ll be some good exposure for him he deserves it

2nd place, just like he was on American Idol. I think his loss on Idol was fair, as David Cook was older and more sure of himself at the time. But Archie absolutely deserved to win this time, so part of me is sad that he didn’t.

But yeah, with him completely starting his Instagram from scratch, it seems like he’s using the experience as somewhat of a launching pad. I’m really excited to see where his career goes now that he’s sort of rebranding himself and stepping more into self-love regarding his queerness.

Don't be. Sometimes the runners-up do better than the winners. And they aren't tied down to an onerous contract with the American Idol management company (19 Entertainment). And they're rid of Simon Cowell and Simon Fuller.

My impression is that his real purpose there was to bring his story and his message to a global audience, in that he succeeded brilliantly. Winning would have been sweet, but in the end I don't think that would have had any significant impact on him or anyone else. He would have had a Golden Mask trophy to display in his home or wherever (assuming that they actually get to keep it, IDK), but that would be about it. What would really be terrific would be if he got to keep the mask. I'd imagine that he would connect more with that than with the trophy.

David is one of my fave male singers ever but I am not spending $10 a month lol but I'm so curious what he's mentioned about music for this album? Lyrics, style etc?

Thank you if you know!

Really, not much so far outside of what he’s shared in post-Masked Singer interviews. But this is definitely shaping up as his most liberated era, for sure.

He did share a few clips of “Up” during the songwriting process, and the sound at least then was more on the ballad-y, inspirational side. Which makes sense, as he’s said that this is meant to be a “transition” single into where he’s at now.

I'm so excited for this era, he's never missed and I am so curious about the direction of the lyrics...
I'm hoping for some dragging of religion tbh
