If I’m being honest (and I say this out of love), I think his team’s fumbled the bag a bit. “Up” should have been ready to go 1-2 days after his Masked Singer reveal. I’m not sure I see the song gaining as much traction now since they didn’t strike when the iron was hot.

Really, the only way I see his career gaining substantially more momentum again is for him to pull a Jennette McCurdy and do a full exposé on the Mormon church. He’s mentioned the idea of writing another book, and really, I think he could strike gold if/when the time comes.

Then again, he could be totally happy with the size and scope of his career. I probably would be myself if I were him. But if he wants to go bigger (and he definitely has the potential to), I think there’s some redirecting that should be done.

The mistake might be in believing he has a "team". He has a booking agent but it appears that he does a lot of his own promotion and production work.

No, he definitely does have a team of people behind him, including a manager in Kari Sellards. It’s not an especially big team, and I couldn’t tell you exactly who’s in charge of all the promotional materials, release dates, and whatnot. But he’s not doing everything by himself.

Regardless, my point was that if momentum is what he wants, whoever’s going about making these decisions should be more strategic about capitalizing on it. I say as someone with no experience in the entertainment industry, lol.

Beyond that, I really am happy for what 2023 has meant for him in terms of personal growth. Even if I’m iffy about how the business side of things is being handled, he’s really grown leaps and bounds from where he was before.

In the brief clips I saw of him playing the lead in "Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat"; he came across as quite charismatic and he seemed to be a "natural."

Several American Idol alumni have done quite well with their Broadway turns. Even with a 6 month Broadway run, he'd almost be guaranteed multiple national talk show appearances, presenting/performing on the Tony Awards and/or Thanksgiving Day Parade and maybe even a guest shot on Law And Order (like everyone else on Broadway.)

I agree 100%
Like why wasn’t he doing the talk show rounds the days following the finale as well?

My power over you grows stronger yet
And though you turn from me to glance behind
The Phantom of the Opera is there
Inside your mind."

I could see it he did sing Think Of Me when he was American Idol
