I couldn’t agree more. I’ll also admit that I have perused people’s IG accounts for clues when they strongly triggered my gaydar, but that is just innate human curiosity I guess (because there are very few ‘celebrities’ that I ‘admire’).
Having said that, and contrary to you, I do believe that people who are somehow part of the rainbow, and make their money by seemingly sharing their private life (ie, influencers), have somewhat of a moral obligation to show that you can be part of that rainbow and successful.
And I have a bit of a double standard because I feel much less strongly about performers who are actually famous because of their true talent instead of clever marketing.
My disdain for Manu Rios is well-known on this board, because I genuinely feel that when it is almost a public secret that he’s gay, that he sends a hideous message out to his young fans, namely that being in a gay relationship is something that needs to remain hidden.
