His stats = 5'11½", 155-pound
He had an older sister who died at an early age

Regarding Jimmy and Gore Vidal being "boyfriends"...I HIGHLY DOUBT IT!!!
1) Vidal was a very famous fiction author with a penchant for saying outrageous things
2) Vidal did dedicate a book to Jimmy...but there were no accounts from other people (friends, classmates, etc.) about their down-low romantic relationship...nor there were letters or correspondences between them
3) I think Vidal (like most closeted gay youths, myself included) just had a massive one-way crush on a hot HS classmate
Jimmy and his fiance Christine White:
1) they agreed to get married when he returned
"He talked about her constantly," Mates recalled. "He was always showing me pictures of her and talking about how beautiful she was, which you could see from the pictures she obviously was. He would hold up the picture and say, 'This is what's waiting for me when I get home.'
2) While in the Marines (about a year and a half)..."He wrote more than 70 letters," Christine White said
3) "Jimmy Trimble lay dead in the foxhole. In the breast pocket of his uniform was his wallet, containing the picture of Christine White that he always carried with him."

About his girlfriend Christine White:
Christine White (actress) - Wikipedia
1) she was a beautiful young lady...She + Jimmy were definitely the "it" couple in their circles
2) she became a relatively famous Hollywood actress...she never did get married
Author
Gore Vidal noted in his memoir
Palimpsest that White, "almost invariably got the (television) parts that my friend
Joanne Woodward wanted." He continued, "When Joanne received the Academy Award (1957 -
The Three Faces of Eve), I wired her, 'Where is Chris White tonight?'
3) Jimmy was remembered at a Veterans Day 2000 tribute to the baseball heroes of World War II...she was there
