Press photograph of "Dillinger's Trial Set For March 12", John Dillinger awaiting trial in courtroom in Crown Point, Indiana, February 10, 1934, while charged with killing patrolman William O'Malley, 43, during a bank robbery in East Chicago, Indiana, on Jan. 15, 1934. Dillinger would break out of the jail in Crown Point on March 3, 1934.
Back in my Navy days even as late as the mid-1980s some military guys still wore the simple boxer shorts. I remember meeting up with a Navy air-crewman and a friend to take studio shots of them both. The air-crewman answered his barrack room door in boxers with morning wood which was protruding through the fly section. Like the two guys on the right side of this photo these boxers would easily show off at least pubic hair.
