When I was a photographer in the Navy we had to take full length photos of candidates applying for certain types of duty. We never took images in jock straps. They were in briefs or boxers. The reason for the photos were for physique and posture and also to check for scoliosis of the spine. I have seen some of these images tracked weight loss during training.
