Sort of a rant, but does anyone else feel like Onlyfans is dying? Especially this year I feel like the website is noticeably going downhill.

The biggest issue is the agency use, creators who weren’t using it before are now joining an agency and it’s just annoying because of the spam messages and they raise the prices an insane amount. Then usually at this point the creator either stops making content altogether or makes something like once a month, so all the content is just repeat videos.

The other big issue is that I feel like there are barely any new creators. Like I’ve found a couple hot ones this year, but they usually quit pretty quickly or are never active. If they don’t quit then they either get banned from onlyfans or join an agency. In previous years I usually found a good handful of new creators - but this year has been so dry. I don’t know if it’s because people know it’s easy to leak content and are scared, or if it’s that onlyfans takes a hefty 20% of their earnings. Most new male creators I find on Twitter nowadays sell on Snapchat or Twitter only, which sucks because it allows them to scam.

We’ll see when the financial reports come out, but I feel that Onlyfans isn’t making as much money as they did last year and 2022. Hopefully they do drop in revenue this year and make a change like banning agencies

It's on its way out. Few creators don't use agencies now. I work worldwide; no matter what time I log in, they're always online. The spam messages are obscene. They're always exaggerated, and PPV prices constantly go up and down. The messages are very generic, too. The few creators who don't use agencies only do it for quick cash. They will always disappear for a while, reappear with some excuse about being injured or sad, and give little bits. I'm happy to see it collapse.

I ran into one of those agencies with Wolver-Peen. He has tons of videos and I had subscribed awhile back and enjoyed his material. I was online reading messages and suddenly I get a message from him stating he noticed I had subscribed to his page before. I thought that strange since it was over a year ago and I have the generic user name given when you sign up. U-....
Anyway, it soon became obvious because he would talk dirty then push to buy a video.
I have definitely seen a decline in content. I am so sick of 1-5 sec videos. Its not even a video its a GIF as far as I am concerned.
Too bad cause OF had a good thing going. I compare its rise and fall to Cam4. Back in the day Cam4 was huge, everyone used it but now Chaturbate has taken over.
Such is life I guess.

I’d say that’s mostly because new creators wouldn’t be easily discovered as nobody knows who they are if they haven’t got a large following

I’d say OF is declining. I also agree the creators who come and go from their posts are either in it for cash grabs or do it when they are bored and want some validation.

One of the accounts I have subbed on and off for a few years frustrates the hell out of me. He will post every day for a week, advertise on X and Insta about his OF and then, it seems, once he gets some number of subs, he ghosts his OF.

For example, he posted frequently in the week prior to the beginning of June. Advertising his collab drop with a sale. Then, he makes a post on June 2nd…and nothing until June 27th. All the while, he is active on Insta talking about meeting a new guy late in May. That quickly turned into the ❤️ announcement in the IG bio and frequent posts on Insta about his new boyfriend.

Now on June 27th, on his OF is this caption “Also sorry guys, my account was locked temporarily due to suspicious activity, turns out my account was being accessed by a third party. I finally got access a few days ago so I’ll FINALLY be responding to everyone. Sorry for the inconvenience everyone!”

So, rebills are coming up and he wants everyone to know he’s back? And oh, he ONLY responds to messages on his OF. No other social media platforms will he reply to messages because, yes, he is THAT important.

Not gonna fall for it. Saving my $9.89 a month for someone who is worth it.

t’s ironic and very demonstrative about everything being in a circle. Onlyfans was at its inception a way for creators to abscond from the tightly regulated and controlled porn studio system - now you could control the where, why and wherefore of your content, cut out middlemen, not be bound to studio mandates, oversight or interference. Now it’s essentially turning into just that, overthrowing tyranny only to become tyrannical in turn. And the irony is that people spend much more money per month than they ever did with studio subscriptions.

Agencies aren't only taking over live accounts, they’re also buying old content from creators and resuscitating them. As they’re buying their previous subscriber list they know a super cheap sub will tempt more than a few, but then all you get is old content and endless spam messages.

I can see why creators accept the offer of a quick payout, but it’s fraud - plain and simple.

Onlyfans is dead. I’m going back to porn sites and cams.

I’m just honestly shocked that Onlyfans continues to allow this. Maybe in the short term it will make them more money, but in the long run there’s no way they are still going to be relevant and profitable in 5 years.

I had to make a new account and subbed to creators I know don’t use agencies, and they literally all prefer to sell on Snapchat. That’s on top of the ones that already left Onlyfans. I’m not surprised about it too because onlyfans take 20% of their profit and they don’t even give them protection from leaking. They have to give up even more for DRM protection.

At this point i prefer the old porn studios. Being sold 10 vids of the same scene, cut into a few seconds or a minute. Re posting or reselling old vids and pictures. Most complaining about having mental health issues, bills to pay... Well we all have bills to pay! Since other collabs must also be OF users, for a year now, it is the same let's call it what it is, porn stars doing collabs as the old studios would do. Plus they still do vids with the studios. Studios i thought were dead, now resuscitated and are making more vids. I've barely seen anything satisfying this year. And all the messages i am getting to buy a picture for 10$ or even 50$. and u see the same models doing the old camshow now, plus escort and massage services. I went back to the studios.
The good with OF is that we have more amateur format at the beginning. But not that different from pornhub. What covid did, is stripping away, athletes and artists that were using that platform. I used to follow Olympic medalists on there and it was really sweet, and a few artists and local singers. Then covid, and it became a porn platform...

I wouldn't say "dying", but it isn't what it was. I am personally sick of the robo-messages and the fake "Hey babe. How are you? Can I show you something?" posts.
Then the over-priced nudes.... the robots telling you to "spoil me". It is just annoying.

The studio system was capitalism. Onlyfans is neo-feudalism.

To paraphrase Ellen Ripley - ‘I don’t know which species is worse. You don’t see them fucking each other over for a goddamn monthly subscription and PPV.’

Wouldn't be surprised if agencies were purposely created and pushed by the big porn conglomerates to essentially get back the market share. But the platform is oversaturated and content creators/models are getting very greedy with monthly sub and PPV. Essentially, they want to get rich quick and easy while having the paid vacations in turn not putting in any effort except the gym and/or uninspired livestreaming.

I think the criticism that‘s been brought up is really valid as I personally feel overwhelmed with all the massages by the agencies and expenses seem to go up and up. But there’s is one thing that Onlyfans revolutionized: Making it possible to gradually transition from being a social media creator to an adult content creator. Many creators on Onlyfans would have never done traditional porn for a studio but being on Onlyfans allows them to head more and more towards porn on their own terms. By now, doing adult work has become quite a normal thing and it’s largely thanks to Onlyfans.

In 2024, we still see many creators transition to Onlyfans who had excluded doing it before: Dani Garcia, Arne vdW, Nate K. Weir, Richard Heinze, Pietro Boselli etc. I don’t see the influx of creators slowing down.

I disagree so much with this post lol, yeah in 2021 Onlyfans seemed “revolutionary” because creators had so much control that they didn’t have before.

But the issue is that new creators who aren’t big influencers have literally no way of getting discovered so they don’t really pursue it much and quit. Just because they have “more control” over their content doesn’t mean anything when they aren’t making money because no one is buying their content because they struggle to advertise their page. The only very profitable accounts are usually ran by agencies, who tell their creators what content to make, which sounds like a porn producer to me

The use of agency is the same as shooting a solo porn video for like Hot guys Fuck or Sean and Cody because they get specific instructions on what to do in their solo. The only difference is that they don’t have to shoot in front of producers (sometimes- other times they have a producer filming them). I think the only benefit for creators to shoot Onlyfans instead of porn is that they get a percentage of sales instead of a flat check. But I wouldn’t be surprised if this changed in the future so that agencies can milk their creators for content and give them as little money as they can.

Other than that I don’t really buy the argument that guys are doing onlyfans that wouldn’t do porn. Have you seen some of the porn studios from the 2000’s? They were getting the same really hot college guys who are onlyfans nowadays and need a quick buck lol.

Astutely put. Onlyfans was always going to be become what it is becoming. To paraphrase the great Crystal Conors at the end of the day - ‘They’re all whores, darlin’.

I think we are looking a this matter from different perspectives.
What you write makes sense for new creators who aren’t big influencers.
I was thinking more about creators who already have a sizable following on social media who only need to lead a small portion of their social followers to Onlyfans to create large income.

There are many examples of guys who wouldn’t do traditional porn by end up creating explicit stuff. One example is mrmuscle who now does full sex scenes like a traditional porn star. But he started out with faceless photos showing parts of his soft dick, then faceless stuff showing his soft cock, then faceless stuff showing his hard cock and fully explicit stuff showing his face. This transition took like 3 years and all the while he was able to milk his thirsty fans by giving them more and making him a millionaire even before showing fully explicit stuff with his face. This wouldn’t have been possible with traditional porn, where you either do a solo or sex video or don’t associate yourself with a porn company at all. Another possibility that Onlyfans allows to make big money is showing your best stuff only as PTV content. This is exactly what e. g. Parker Egerton does. He shows nothing explicit on his wall but via PTV content there are jerk off videos and sex tapes available for around 100 dollars per customer. And you can even make millions by showing nothing explicit at all, even in PTV content, like Harry Jowsey, who claims to have make over 3 million dollars on Onlyfans.

Overall Onlyfans can be very lucrative for people who already have a large following from another platform. They can milk their fans on their journey of creating more and more daring content, ’showing a more private side’ etc. while some of them never show explicit content. This is the reason why Dani Garcia, Arne vdW, Nate K. Weir, Richard Heinze, Pietro Boselli transitioned to Onlyfans this year. (Or do we think we are going to see Pietro jerking off on Onkyfans, lmao?) I am not saying these guys are hotter than the college guys who needed a quick buck on from the 2000’sl But those college guys were anonymous and often only did it only once. By contrast, the social media influencers on Onlyfans associate their name/fame with their new career path and that’ a driving force in normalizing work in adult content creation.
