Why do people continue paying for porn through OnlyFans when getting scammed is almost guaranteed?
Because it’s not. You can look up a creator on here or similar forums and most of the time find out within five minutes if their page is worth paying for. Just do your research and you won’t get scammedWhy do people continue paying for porn through OnlyFans when getting scammed is almost guaranteed?
It’s not the end of the road, though—just a bit of a shake-up. For creators and fans, there are still opportunities to connect and thrive. If you're curious about the latest trends and updates, you might want to check out onlyfam.com . It’s a good spot for keeping up with how things are evolving.I wouldn’t say OnlyFans is precisely dying, but it’s going through some changes. The platform has had its share of ups and downs; lately, it seems people are exploring other options or shifting their focus.
Agree and the articles out there that message contacts & replies are not authentic will also drive users both for females and males.I definitely think Onlyfans is dying and will not be relevant in two years. They HAD a good business model but their greed is going to make them irrelevant. My main reasons why (other than agencies):
-Leaks, a lot of guys who would be willing to do onlyfans won’t for fear that they’ll get leaked and have their nudes online. Onlyfans never did enough to protect creators. And it’s much more common knowledge than in like 2021 that your stuff will get leaked.
-No new creators, this kinda goes hand in hand with leaks but a lot of new guys aren’t making onlyfans this year. I remember in past years that young guys, particularly guys starting college, starting onlyfans once they turned 18. Right now it’s the same creators doing to same things, so I won’t be spending my money on repetitive things and I know most won’t either.
-Difficult to start an onlyfans, I’ve heard from creators that getting verified and starting an onlyfans creator account is actually a pain and hard to do. Other than showing their ID they have to link their social media platforms and do extra things to get verified which can take months. It’s not this difficult on other platforms like Fansly or Chaturbate that do it almost instantly. This hurts the amount of new creators.
-Banning and mistreating creators, they ban a lot of creators who then move to different platforms with their audience. Many creators moved to Fansly and Fansly is starting to grow rapidly. I feel like this year Fansly grew more than previous years. Also creators hate onlyfans too, it’s not a good thing when the producers and consumers on your platform hate you.
-Creators using money transfers, most or every creator I buy from nowadays pretty much only sell using cash app. I’ve noticed starting this year everybody is now doing it. The 25% cut from sales is how Onlyfans makes money so this is really really hurting them.
-Lack of growth, once a guy starts an account it’s really hard to actually grow without an agency. This was always a problem and onlyfans never fixed it, so now the vast majority of accounts are agency ran.
Bundle all these issues with the exponential growth of agencies and it’s starting to cause a lot of trouble. I spent a significant amount less on the website than I did in previous years and it seems like many people are too.
You hit the bull's eye with the leaks! Although it's a very complex aspect, on one side, it disrupts the idea of OnlyFans being a private platform where you can "secretly" share your content without the overexposure of traditional porn, and imo this is what attracted so many young, attractive and hot people to the platform in the beginning, I doubt most of those hot guys would partake in traditional studio porn if onlyfans didn't exist, there they could just share whatever they felt comfortable in sharing, not show their full faces (many creators in the early days did not), it always felt like a temporary job, where they could get a lot of money showing their assets, and eventually close their profiles and the content would vanish and they would go back to their regular lives and no one would ever know they had done porn, but onlyfans quick and massive growth disrupted this logic.I definitely think Onlyfans is dying and will not be relevant in two years. In so many case, you are no longer talking to the actual person or very rarely are when you communicate messages. So know you have to trust the "creator sex worker" and whoever is reading your initial messages be it their wife, manager, girlfriend, mom, etc..... At lease two class action suits have already been filed on this matter. It will die a slow death as the mircoscope comes out more and more and looks at everything.Sort of a rant, but does anyone else feel like Onlyfans is dying? Especially this year I feel like the website is noticeably going downhill.
The biggest issue is the agency use, creators who weren’t using it before are now joining an agency and it’s just annoying because of the spam messages and they raise the prices an insane amount. Then usually at this point the creator either stops making content altogether or makes something like once a month, so all the content is just repeat videos.
The other big issue is that I feel like there are barely any new creators. Like I’ve found a couple hot ones this year, but they usually quit pretty quickly or are never active. If they don’t quit then they either get banned from onlyfans or join an agency. In previous years I usually found a good handful of new creators - but this year has been so dry. I don’t know if it’s because people know it’s easy to leak content and are scared, or if it’s that onlyfans takes a hefty 20% of their earnings. Most new male creators I find on Twitter nowadays sell on Snapchat or Twitter only, which sucks because it allows them to scam.
We’ll see when the financial reports come out, but I feel that Onlyfans isn’t making as much money as they did last year and 2022. Hopefully they do drop in revenue this year and make a change like banning agencies
Overtime none of them are really worth it there. They either students looking for cash and disappear, convicted felons who can't get a job, or losers that will look back a few years from now when they get married and have a kid and say that didn't build me any type of careerI’d say OF is declining. I also agree the creators who come and go from their posts are either in it for cash grabs or do it when they are bored and want some validation.
One of the accounts I have subbed on and off for a few years frustrates the hell out of me. He will post every day for a week, advertise on X and Insta about his OF and then, it seems, once he gets some number of subs, he ghosts his OF.
For example, he posted frequently in the week prior to the beginning of June. Advertising his collab drop with a sale. Then, he makes a post on June 2nd…and nothing until June 27th. All the while, he is active on Insta talking about meeting a new guy late in May. That quickly turned into the announcement in the IG bio and frequent posts on Insta about his new boyfriend.
Now on June 27th, on his OF is this caption “Also sorry guys, my account was locked temporarily due to suspicious activity, turns out my account was being accessed by a third party. I finally got access a few days ago so I’ll FINALLY be responding to everyone. Sorry for the inconvenience everyone!”
So, rebills are coming up and he wants everyone to know he’s back? And oh, he ONLY responds to messages on his OF. No other social media platforms will he reply to messages because, yes, he is THAT important.
Not gonna fall for it. Saving my $9.89 a month for someone who is worth it.
I'm with you. These guys are becoming "losers" because of a quick buck that will not last and they will turn around in a few years and regret that they didn't take a more traditional career path. If you step back it really is hard to justify playing a part in that and I am doing it less and less. Striving for more from myself as they should too.Not being prudish but— I’d like it to. Or at least do better at the age limit of who can create. Over the last year or so, I’m seeing more and more young people walking across the high school graduation stage and straight into an onlyfans account that’s being promoted on TwiX.
Yes, the legal age to do porn is 18+ and plenty of 18-20 y/o have followed the same path via a known studio, but it’s like having an OFF/JFF/Fansly is being touted as the only new alternative to a traditional 9 to 5, or even a part time something somewhere, based on this influx.
I know sites like this are here to stay, and I’ve definitely supported my fair share of creators, but I’m just a little troubled by the thought of what effects stuff like this will create for many in a decade or so.
Hey, this was a great thread and really interesting around the challenges with the platform, especially around the increasing demand for additional fees in DM’s to view content. You made mention of great creators…I’m really keen to hear who you think is worth checking out! Thanks.I get that logically it sounds like it will but I can say from personal use that there are hundreds of great creators worth subbing to, both old and new. They might become fewer and farther between but statistically they’ll always be there. Even if the bubble eventually pops, porn is one of the industries that will always be in demand no matter what. I don’t think a dip in quality is the same as dying
