Unless Jack has a mental strenght and discipline of someone like Tom Daley (who his own coach, Jane, called a warrior), the obvious thing I can take from Jack's statement: he's really immature, naive or/and delusional - which is fair and ok for a 18 y.o person.
Is not a sexuality thing wanting to start a family but is a yellow-to-orange flag for potential healthy partners (they could feel pressured) and a invitation for opportunistic people bring this desire to media when you're very young.
