Jensen Ackles

I don't mean they refuse to show show gay scenes but they are normally for shock value, which is the scene you're referring to. All the other scenes of sexual encounters between men are either just hinted at or cut altogether.

Homelander/Soldier Boy being one and Homelander & Doppelganger Homelander being another. In the comics Homelander kills doppelganger after having sex with him whereas here its hinted at then he's killed.

I may be wrong but think that if was woman on woman they would show the sex scenes before going on to do the shock and gore
That’s primarily because of two things:

1) the actors refused to do the scene because they thought being in a gay scene could damage their career/image (fragile masculinity )

2) male gays sex scenes are more difficult to sell to white male audiences, as they find this either degrading or obscene. Female gay scenes are more marketable for that audience though and that’s why we got so much of Queen Maeve lesbian life last season. In many ways, Amazon Prime and almost all companies act the same way as Vought in The Boys’ universe. They just care about what’s marketable. That’s both funny that they understand this issue on the show, but also sad, as they won’t be brave enough to challenge these ideas for the sake of views

Castiel's character was basically asexual. His professed love to Dean was really just caving into fan service in the end.

You're just factually wrong. Castiel got an erection from porn, made out with Meg, had sex with April, called April "so hot" after the fact, tried to date his boss Nora when he was human, and of course called Dean the one thing he wanted that he couldn't have before telling him he loved him.

Multiple other angels, including Lucifer, Gabriel, Balthazar, Ishim, Akobel, and Hannah professed sexual/romantic attraction.

This notion that angels or Castiel are "asexual" is uncanonical and made up out of whole cloth.

According to supernatural lore, angels can be that horny that they would put the Book of Enoch to shame. Castiel got sexual urges even before he understood what it was so saying his love confession was either a retcon or just fan service is just wrong. The writers knew what they were up to

LOL. You're all carrying on like Castiel was a real player. He wasn't. At his core he was asexual.
His Dean love was a fan created myth that they caved into it in the end.
It's all fiction anyway and no need to get angry about it.
Dean didn't love Castiel in that way no matter how much you wish it to be.

Dean never showed any hint, conscious or unconscious, of any gay tendencies at all if we are to be honest.
It was fandom that pushed it.
As much as we may have wanted it to be, it would be just fan service to change his character.
Jensen's objection would quite rightly be it was not in Dean's DNA. An artistic objection rather than a social one.

It was left partly ambiguous for people to provide their own interpretations of when Cas said he loved Dean. Misha himself thinks it was romantic in nature but others disagree. So I think it’s all about how you want to view it.

Interesting you are accusing him of that when he has said he himself is part of the LGBT+community.
the very next day, he put out a statement saying it was a misunderstood joke and he's straight

Misha Collins lost all my respect when he did that. How the f—- do you “accidentally” come out as bi? He knew what he was saying.

I agree, but this goes for the majority of str8 males. They may even be a so called "ally". But the thought of seeing two men have sex on the screen is where the line is drawn. It makes most very uncomfortable compared to seeing two women get it on.
