We pretty much had confirmation on this weeks podcast that Jordan is dating a man. The rumours have been that it’s somebody called Dominic Barklem and they both laughed when discussing dating somebody with the same name as a sibling. You have to hear it to really understand. I just hope he keeps it private to respect his privacy and not because he’s scared to come out.
“To respect his privacy” goes on to openly speculate on the internet.
I read that and thought they meant that they hope he hasn’t come out because he wants to remain private and not because he’s ashamed or embarrassed to be gay. I might be wrong lol.
I think Jordan's great but I can't listen to him on Capital. They cleansed him and doesn't seem half as fun. And I know a lot of chat on radio is planed but some of the stuff on there just comes across as fake. And that Greggs stunt is just an ad that just so ick. And the over reactions from his co stars annoy me. With all the ads that Capital have I just can't listen. Shame

I didn’t say I was respecting his privacy, I said he was respecting his own. I don’t think anybody on this thread can say they are respecting anybody’s privacy or judge others.
I tuned in briefly on Wednesday and they were playing an old song from the 90s I think and I hadn’t even considered what the playlist on Capital could be like, never listened to the station before. I’ll stick with Radio 1.
It might have been a good financial move for him but I don’t think it was a great career move, I mean, do we know if he’s been blacklisted from BBC entirely or just the radio?
Nobody knows. One minute celebrating his birthday and talking about the future plans for the show with Vick, then next minute off air with no goodbyes. He’d just filmed a vaping documentary for BBC Three as well.
He didn’t work his notice period so it was an instant dismissal and he now works for a rival so the existing Radio 1 team can’t refer to him by name anymore. Same thing happened with Dev, Chris Stark and Chris Moyles. Some sort of policy that means they can’t/won’t let ex-presenters have their cake and eat it. I don’t expect Jordan to get much telly work on the BBC in the near future.
When they let go of Ken Bruce on Radio 2 he was due to work his notice but as soon as he found another job they instantly terminated his contract too. He then got a tv show on Channel 4. Graham Norton put them in an awkward position when he left Radio 2 because his chat show and Eurovision commentary are very popular so they haven’t blacklisted him but now he’s doing game shows on ITV.
this isn’t unusual in radio. I’ve seen it happening before. I often wonder if it’s due to the risk of live broadcasts and the potential for the DJ to slag off the company. Also, in any job, it’s difficult to maintain your enthusiasm for a company when you’re working notice
