Wow > can you provide a link for that specific interview where they make that exact statement about the 6 main roles? Kit Connor hasn't made any confirming statement, in keeping with his understandable right to privacy, but the director and creator have nonetheless done this for him by making such a specific public statement about the main cast members which obviously include Kit?? Would be very interested in listening to that interview!

Did you guys ever stop to think maybe he hasn't come out and labeled himself yet, because he is still figuring that out? He just turned 18.... not much older than the character he plays in Heartstopper. Being thrust into the spotlight at such a young age, it's perfectly reasonable to think he may still be figuring out who he is... and that could be a valid reason why he won't answer those questions yet. I think we should leave him alone and let him identify however he wants, whenever he chooses.

From everything i've seen of him he seems like a genuinely nice, pretty posh, well mannered guy who's probably floored by all the attention he's got. Feel like with young actors like this they need to be braced for what comes after they're in a hit like this. I hope they prepped him for all the morons asking him about his sexuality when he's only just turned 18. There’s a video on the Netflix YouTube account where the director and creator talk about how the main 6 roles were all cast with the actors sexuality matching the character.
Kit’s been asked about his sexuality in interviews, and said he didn’t wanna talk about it. The dudes still in high school at an all boys school - keeping it purposely ambiguous in that environment makes complete sense to me.

I mean, hes on a major netflix show kissing a boy multiple times. I would guess theres not much to be afraid of sexuality wise going back to school

I only mean my comment in a response to the point he wouldnt come out because of the all boys school. I don't think straight boys will see the difference between acting and that he actually kissed a boy They would see him as gay/bi either way, if he was hypothetically worried about that

He said in an interview he's "comfortable and confident" with his sexuality and prefers to keep it private. He does seem straight to me and I'm going to assume so until proven otherwise lol. If he's not at least bi, it'll definitely take a little bit away from the magical fairy-tale like appeal of the show. I get why it may be in his best interest to not identify one way or another, but then what's the point of the tweet which is now being read as some kind of a tacit coming out lol
