Lou Ferrigno Jr.

This break up simply came out of nowhere with they way they were setting up their relationship even in the last episode. What a disappointment.
Its fucking stupid, the whole episode setting up Buck being ready to be serious only for Tommy to pull that shit its just so infuriating.

this is so super disappointing especially apparently interviews with Lou saying he's done for real, I'll watch this episode tomorrow to see how it pans out but I'm probably going straight back to not watching this garbage afterwards if they really broke Buck up just to do the classic bi person has to sleep around with everyone storyline...

also I hope it wasn't just because of the rampant buddie bullying. Like I would love to see Buddie too but some of these fans are absolutely unhinged.

Tonight was my final episode, the break up was one of the worst handled ones in the show especially since they decided to do it last minute and blindsided Lou. Not to mention Oliver spewing biphobic rhetoric in his interviews. "Ally" my ass.

So I need to see the seen as well because I'm only getting pieces online but the context is Buck asks Tommy to move in with him and Tommy bolts and says Buck needs to date other people? I could see that being a fakeout and he comes back but then I hear there are comments by Lou saying he didn't want that and was hoping for a better ending for the character?

...I'll have to watch it for myself but that sounds like something that could bounce back in normal context if it wasn't for the Lou bit... and he could be playing it up like some actors do when they don't want to spoil a return. But I'll have to watch the scene myself and find out just what it looks like, but the reaction of the fandom makes it sound like it's genuine and not a possible road bump that will be resolved with them getting back together later.

I'm like you and haven't seen it yet. However, that was my impression. Some people saying it's fixable but Lou's interview sounding very final.

I really should just watch it. I read Lou's interview though and it did sound both final and like he was blindsided. He said point blank that he's going back to SWAT for now.

Could be that this was a way to accommodate his schedule though. I genuinely wouldn't discount that.

honestly, watching this scene, if it weren't for the Lou interview, I would totally think of this as just a potential hiccup and Tommy and Buck being able to get back together afterwards. this is a pretty common Romance trope of one party pulling away out of fear of having their heartbroken only to come back later and fight to win them back

with the interview, I don't know what to think especially since it apparently blindsided both actors and the shownrunner previously just described it as just a setback or something before. I wouldn't call this definite, I dunno maybe I'm just being delusional.

I guess never say never and I'm probably just in my feelings right now I'm just not too optimistic.
However he did say this so who knows.

Like I wouldn't have high levels of faith in the writers especially with how they squandered the Gerrard stuff but it really just seems very tropey to me and something that could totally end up with them back together. I'll need to check his interview as well because it could totally just be the actors playing up the drama.

The problem here is the 9-1-1 shipper fanbase seems very reactionary and unstable so whereas doing something like this on another show probably wouldn't have much fallout, I could see it getting out of hand very quickly online lol

Also Also, I didn't see anything biphobic in that scene about him needing to sleep around because he's bi or something so that sounds like it was just Oliver saying t hat in an interview? I dunno, sounds like maybe it was an overreaction now in that space but I guess we just have to wait and see.

So having now seen the whole episode I think there's actually a decent chance they get back together before the end of the season.

It's got a real romcom breakup feel.

But I'm not getting my hopes up because I got irrationally upset over this episode and it's not worth my time and energy.

I'll wait till the season is over, read the spoilers and maybe watch then.
