And the "high school students" don't look like high school students. It's just a typical American show. Thats why it didn't have the same level of 'impact' as Heartstopper and Young Royals lol
"Young Royals" + "Heartstopper" were also the unique creation and vision of two highly talented females who did the episode writing themselves vs the schlocky Hollywood producers and their lazy team of writers!:(

Ehh. That's not entirely fair. I think there was a lot of good intentions with Love Victor and there are parts where you can see it come through, but ultimately I think it succumbed to too many of the pressures to be a standard teen soap and relied on cheap will they/wont they/break up/get back together again tropes to manufacture drama.

But mostly fair IF you compare the standard Hollywood model used to produce "Love Triangles, Victor" vs those two other European / Scandinavian series and how they were both created, written and produced!

Anthony Keyvan has never spoken on his sexuality but otherwise true and I find it annoying hahaha
And Nico himself has stated he doesn't like it when people assume his sexuality (without ever clarifying what it is), and I think that includes straight.
Btw there are like SEVERAL rumors that he's out as bi in his personal life (and he was more open about it on social media before he started getting more mainstream attention)

This is what all the straight guys say when they want the perks of having the gay community on your side.

Lol, the “nobody’s business” bullshit straight mantra praised on a gay forum. Brilliant. No notes.

Hot take: if you ACTUALLY aren’t comfortable with your sexuality being discussed, maybe don’t audition for queer roles? Let the people who ARE comfortable with it do that.

but we all know that’s just code for “I’m straight but want gay fans”.

Nico is not straight. And I am 100% sure of that.

I get your point and agree with it to an extent: it would be nice to have queer actors in queer roles. But what I want more than that is for everyone to identify/express their sexuality in whatever way they want to. Forcing people “out” is the real bullshit masquerading as queer activism. Don’t fall for it.

yup, pretty much. Here’s the thing, right? The queer community broadly decided that we think queer roles should go to queer actors. But instead of that lifting up queer actors, or making it easier for actors to come out, all that’s happened is that every actor who gets a queer role does this “nobody’s business” thing which reverses the burden onto the public. Because what’re we gonna do? Examine their queer membership papers? Force them out of the closet? Obviously not. It sucks.
