Nico greetham

Exactly > yet another example of how ridiculous this HOLLYWOOD casting reality truly is and how sad that most viewers just shrug and quietly accept it as being the expected and acceptable norm!:(
IDC, it's clearly past our age range. I'm only gonna watch it if there's booty

Idc, as long as they do a good job, I'm fine. I'm in it for booty tbh.

Also, I think Nico is queer, but that's pretty much. He doesn't need to label it to any extent or even say what he is, it's his business.

Sorry, I'm not trying to call you out personally here, because a lot of people have shared this same opinion, but I have to disagree. This would not be an acceptable opinion about any minority group, so I don't see why it should be for queer people. Nobody thought it was okay for Emma Stone to play a Hawaiian woman, for Johnny Depp to pretend to be Native American for the tenth time, or for Scarlett Johanssen to try to play absolutely every minority under the sun. Even Jewish people, for example, are vocal about wanting Jewish actors in a roll when that identity is important to the role. Why is it that when it comes to LGBTQ actors, we're expected to just roll with this coy "I'm not telling!" thing. Please either be openly queer or stand aside and make room for someone who is.

1. No one should be pressured to come out, they should come out when the time is right. I'm not even out to my family yet.
2. Again, unless I like the show, idc about characters or storyline, I'm in it for ass.

1. No, no one can be pressured to come out. But if you're not ready for it, then don't take a queer role, is my point.
2. And yes, there are times where it does not really matter. But there are also lots of times where it does, like in a groundbreaking queer-focused show made by a major industry-dominating studio like Disney.

I honestly don't seem Love Victor, or even Love Simon, as groundbreaking. Queer as Folk and Will and Grace were actually groundbreaking and featured straight men as gay leads.

Well, we could argue semantics about what does or doesn't constitute "groundbreaking." I think it's fair to argue that as a queer focused show aimed primarily at teens and young people, made by Disney, it's fairly novel, though perhaps not "unique." But generally speaking I think you do have to consider target audience, rather than just who did what first.

Heartstopper was alright but it's not nearly as "groundbreaking" as people are making it out to be, besides the representation it's actually just a trite, kidz boppy show where 15/16 year old characters are written like home schooled elementary schoolers that live under a rock. Any hint of anything explicit or sexual is scrubbed, the dialogue is unnatural and comes off as transparently preachy. I guess it would be cute for preteens but it's so out of touch with how teenagers that age actually are. Apart from the old looking actors Love, Victor is a way more accurate depiction of teens. Neither of them come close to Young Royals, it's a show about the Prince of Sweden and still manages to feel more real than the other teen dramas.
Young Royals>>>>>>>>Love, Victor>>>>>>Heartstopper

The broad, general, extremely nonspecific “we.”
oh god, u are one of those bitches who hates people like Michael or George for having played gay characters when they are straight? fuck off and let people do they job. Also there is no we, don't speak for the community, speak only for yourself. If you don't like something, go to Twitter and express it there, Karen.

the Gossip girl reboot is pretty gay too and Pose>anything else

on topic: Nico Greetham is bi and it seems to be an open secret in the gay theatre scene, he's just not publicly out. apparently he had a threeway thing with the Broadway couple Clay and [CENSORED NAME ALERT! This name is blacklisted on lpsg. Please respect this. Any attempt around this will result in a ban. If you see this please report it so we can delete the comment. Thank you.]-Thomson. and obviously there are the casting couch rumours with Ryan murphy but that's probably just ridiculous made up gossip
1. Gossip Girl also features a straight actor, Thomas Doherty, in a queer role. However, I ain't cute, because of his marvelous ass.
2. Pose is great, but not just for its queer representation, but for portrayals of trans people, queer POCs, and the origins of modern American drag and New York ball culture. We also got Papi naked.
3. Ye, the whole "casting couch" shit needs to end.
