I sometimes wonder how professional these photographers are. Are they not seeing what I am seeing?

Dark background, dark hair, and dark clothing. You mostly see a floating face.

It would look much better if they used a lighter background, say, light gray.

He’s in front of a step-and-repeat, which is set up for all important guests to have a photo op in front of. They don’t change it for each guest’s needs. But they could definitely edit to pull more details out of the dark parts of the photo.
